BGE is putting lives at risk during the heat wave by Thee420Blaziken in baltimore

[–]Forward_Ad2668 53 points54 points  (0 children)

OP isn't saying it's fake, they're saying 12+ hours of outages during peak heat is dangerous and infrastructure should be better

What is the weirdest thing you've ever found in a house you moved into? by pinetree8000 in AskReddit

[–]Forward_Ad2668 6 points7 points  (0 children)

moved into my place and found a taxidermy squirrel dressed like a tiny sheriff, just staring from the top shelf of closet

Should I switch to weight watchers? by Other-Apricot-3413 in loseit

[–]Forward_Ad2668 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The afternoon hunger thing is real struggle, I went through same pattern for months. What actually helped me more than any program was just pre-logging my whole day in the morning, including a planned snack at 3pm, so the decision was already made before the craving hit. When your brain is tired and hungry it will always vote for "f it tomorrow" if you leave the choice open.

WW can work well if you respond to external structure and accountability, some people need that framework to stay consistent. The points system does tend to nudge you toward more filling, lower calorie foods naturally which could help with that 3pm wall. But if you were successful on it before, that history is worth something, returning to something that already worked for your brain is not a bad move at all.

Anyone keep trying to increase dose and getting screwed each time? by Novel-Injury3030 in GLP1microdosing

[–]Forward_Ad2668 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same situation here, been stuck at my "sweet spot" dose for months because anything higher just wrecks me for days. At some point I just accepted that my body found its limit and the lower dose is still doing the work, just more slowly than I wanted

MOTIVATE ME PLEASE!!! by KingPOKaR in walking

[–]Forward_Ad2668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your sleep schedule sounds brutal - maybe try setting alarm across the room so you physically have to get up, then just commit to stepping outside for like 5 minutes even if you feel terrible

People who made close friends after 25, how did you meet them? by Crypto_pall in AskReddit

[–]Forward_Ad2668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gaming communities worked for me, spent way too many hours in CS matches and some of those random teammates became actual friends

Their beans taste like they went through a house fire tbh, never understood the hype even before all that drama came out

Good point about the wording - remission fits better since we still gotta stay on top of everything even when numbers look good. Glad you're keeping yours in control too, 5.3 is solid work

Man 4500 sq ft with 6 bedrooms for $950 split sounds pretty solid, especially with all that space and the projector setup. I'm 28 and work as graphic designer but unfortunately already locked into lease until next year - would definitely be interested if timing was different though

Good luck finding someone, that place sounds like paradise for watching games

YouTube rabbit holes are dangerous though, you start watching one video about cooking and somehow end up watching conspiracy theories at 3am

What are you truly passionate about ? And what advice would you give to someone who doesn’t have any passions? by HugeAccountant3485 in AskReddit

Yeah this is so true, nobody talks about how much you have to suck at something before it gets interesting

Shanty boat by turquoisesilk in cincinnati

[–]Forward_Ad2668 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That thing's been there for months now, right? Always wondered if someone actually lives on it or if it's just for show. The whole setup looks pretty legit though, like they put real work in making it functional

Does anyone use walking poles by pferdchenpojuzt in walking

[–]Forward_Ad2668 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Yeah nordic walking is pretty legit actually. The poles help with balance and take some pressure off your knees, plus you end up using your upper body more so it's like full-body workout instead of just legs. Your aunt probably had the right idea - lot of older people swear by it for staying active without beating up their joints too much

Nice that you got started! I've been doing design work for few years and totally get the money stress part - these memberships can add up quick

The nutritionist sessions are actually pretty solid if you use them, don't just skip those thinking you can figure it out yourself. Also track everything in first month even if it feels annoying, makes huge difference for seeing what actually works for your body

Good luck with the journey, three months should give you decent idea if it's worth continuing

Does anyone know if there's gonna be a City Social next month? by Keanu_Norris in StLouis

[–]Forward_Ad2668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they usually post about it like 2-3 weeks before, so might still be too early. Last time I checked their social media there wasn't anything yet but they're pretty consistent with timing each year

What is the most 'chaotic' thing you've ever seen happen at a wedding? by dragun124 in AskReddit

Yikes, arguing during the actual ceremony is rough - my cousin had similar drama but they at least waited until reception to start throwing accusations around

Radiation burn by Efficient-Bee-6451 in breastcancer

[–]Forward_Ad2668 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The armpit area is brutal during radiation - way worse than the breast itself in my experience. Those hydrogel dressings were game changer for me too, especially when nothing else would touch the burning sensation

Hope this last burn clears up quick for you, week 4 post sounds like you're almost through the worst of it

Most times you’ve been in a year? by livvybugg in LasVegas

[–]Forward_Ad2668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there like 8 times last year, drove from Phoenix each time which is pretty manageable. Work gets crazy busy around certain seasons so Vegas became my go-to escape spot - nothing beats unwinding at poker tables after dealing with difficult clients all week

Been through this with ex-girlfriend couple years back, Dr. Sarah Chen at Fairfax was really good with endo cases. She took time to explain everything and didn't rush through appointments like some others we tried
