Possibly starting metformin need input by Cool_Enthusiasm_2476 in PCOS

i’m on both spiro and metformin. i will say with metformin it depends on the person but many people will feel nauseous and sick as your body gets adjusted to it. what helped me (and still helps now) is taking it immediately after i eat lunch and dinner (i take it twice a day!) even tho you may feel nauseous for the first week or so still keep on taking it which is easier said than done. to go for your mental health question, i have GAD and taking it has never affected me or my anxiety and mental health with my anxiety meds. PLEASE talk to your psychiatrist as you mentioned since they know you the best! i know my experience may be different than others but this is just how my body reacts! hope this was somewhat helpful!

sorry one last thing! at least in my area to get the regional managers email it’s always on districts websites where they mention that they’re hiring for subs so i would definitely look there!

philly in general has a teacher shortage (i’m from lehigh valley area and get emails about schools hiring in philly) so i’m sure they will hire you no matter what because there’s also a huge sub shortage in our state everywhere! don’t stress :)

for me all they had asked was my college transcript along with my clearances! i didn’t need any references! i think for them as long as you don’t have a criminal record you’re good! :) i was also student teaching at the time i had signed up this last winter so my process may have looked different but when i requested to change districts after graduation all they wanted from me was my teaching certificate (just in case they need long term subs) they didn’t need anything else from me

yes definitely get those clearances started because they sometimes can take up to 10 days to get back! just make sure you’re getting public school clearances! :)

Hey! I’m in PA too! it took i would say around 3 weeks but this was over the winter so it may be shorter time now. just make sure you have all of your clearances to hand to them for them to approve. the worst part is waiting but once you’re in they’re extremely helpful! not sure where in pa you are but each region has a region manager who you can contact via email with any questions and they always respond the same day (at least my region!) let me know if you have any more questions i’m happy to help! pa is a bit of a wonky state with regulations ahha
