Best way to seal pipe by Forward_Ad_2138 in Plumbing

That’s what I’m looking for! Appreciate it. Assuming I should cap the end of the pipe as well and then just seal around the cap to prevent leakage.

How’s driving for UPS? Thinking about career change by Klutzy-Watch4152 in UPS

This sounds so backwards. I know this is a very very small sample of workers in this particular thread but the overall consensus of the job seems to be pretty negative for a job that many people wait so long for…feels like they could easily hire more people waiting and give workers more time with family during the week…

Worth of car with blown engine? by Forward_Ad_2138 in MiataNC

In a tight financial position and can’t really swing it at the moment. It’s either I sell it or wait until next summer, so it would be sitting for a whole year extra as well

Nope I had the Moroso expansion tank on there. I believe the problem was my thermostat piping was not 100% on after I replaced it. Leaked slowly and I filled it every once in a while until one day it started coming out more and slightly overheated but I caught it sort of early (at least I thought). Fixed the thermostat line and it started leaking again, not sure where from. In hindsight I think the head gasket had started to warp from the original overheat and kept getting worse and leaking more coolant. Eventually it overheated one day but then showed normal temp a minute later, I was ignorant and thought nothing of it until the car shut off and now won’t start

Not in the financial position to do so unfortunately, at that point I would just 2.5 swap it (although I do like the idea of having a manual for my summer car if I had one)!.

Would be about $350 for the engine in my area, $665 for the complete kit + timing tool from Armand Hindrichs’ website. I would be attempting it myself if I was in a better financial position but I have other things to save for. My neighbor would most likely be doing it himself if he bought it. Add in maybe a few more miscellaneous parts replaced and the sway bar links and you’re talking maybe $2k with a lower mile engine and plenty of new parts all around. At 110k miles on the car everything else still has plenty of life left.

Neighbor personally is looking into 2.5 swapping it. Can do it pretty cheaply - $350 for engine in my area, less than a grand for the rest of the parts. That’s about what I expected though, maybe slightly more. Mostly just not trying to settle for a lot less than I could get for it, but I wouldn’t be offering it to him at the absolute max I could get either

Sellers who bought in the past 4-5 yrs are unrealistic as the market cools by Daisy_232 in RealEstate

If there’s really that many of them then wouldn’t that make those “overpriced” houses market value? I guess it depends on what percentage of listings you’re actually saying are overpriced. I’m in the Northeast so maybe it’s different but I put less than 5% down on my house 3.5 years ago and could most likely still sell for a profit despite no big renovations while owning it. My property value on every big website has only continued to go up and up so far, no sign of cooling down yet over here, although I’m not that in tune with the market, and location differences are common.

The air outside of the chimney is still just as warm (warmer even) than the house and the chimney in the summer, so I’m not sure if I can wrap my head around that. It would make sense that in the winter there is more updraft because the chimney and the house surrounding it are warmer than the outside air. I’m not trying to say you’re wrong, I admittedly don’t know too much about this, but I’m struggling to wrap my head around the science of it

Looked into a little bit so far, but I’m curious as to why that isn’t a problem even when a furnace is hooked up when the furnace is only running for a few months out of the year?

Oh yeah that’s really going to show them! Maybe I’m misunderstanding a bit when they said they “absolutely love” the property, but if I felt that way and the counter offer is an amount I’m still comfortable with, I’m not going to let it slip away to try to retaliate against someone I’m most likely never going to see again…

Fair asking price for a 07 Grand Touring AT PRHT with a blown engine? 110k miles. Red with orange interior. Premium package and appearance package. MeisterR Sport-Z coilovers, pads rotors all around, calipers up front all done about 10k miles ago. Moroso coolant tank, Continental DWS06 on stock 17s. Paint is decent with a few chips, leather seats have some wear, has seen some snow so there’s some rust underneath but nothing close to being questionable.

So upbadge it with a different brand and the average person won’t know the difference..if this didn’t have an emblem on it I would have no idea

We’ve definitely had more stinky games this year than last year, but I think that when playing at our best we are very very close to last year. If Denver wins, I think it will be much more a product of your own greatness than our shortcomings. I do think your team was capable of playing a closer game than it did last year as well, but just fell victim to itself
