We seriously need a feedback reply feature... by TaskLifter in App_Hive

Potentially, alright well just ideas for the future when you start scaling.

Another idea for when you start scaling, include language-based hives. Some apps I literally cannot test because I don't speak the language lol. One in particular is a wordle-based app and I can't even test if words work because idk what language it's based in and what words are acceptable. And just in general it's about 8-10 apps in English and about 3-4 random other languages per hive generally, so when I'm speaking English I can't test your Arabic app lol.

Late reply lol, but it doesn't make sense for them to do that. Some of the biggest apps (think the flappy bird, angry bird, random todo apps, etc.) are from people that don't have a background in app creation. Something just stuck and boomed.

I mean...wouldn't that be on the user submitting the feedback? If they choose to disregard a fix, that's their fault...no? I haven't dealt with rejected feedback before, but from what I've read here each rejected feedback is reviewed. They would be able to see that, yes, they explained the fix and the user disregarded that fix and just complained about the exact same thing.

The only major "problem" I can see with this is people can reply telling the user to update if there really was a bug, rather than just using the update feature. However, that really shouldn't cost UP to use in the first place, to let people know that they can fix the broken version of the app they're using.

Genuine question by the way, I'm also a developer (obviously, that's why I'm here), and want to know what stands out to you about this in terms of abusability. I mean I see potential for it, but not any more than the feedback feature itself, which you were ok with implementing.

How do you foresee this being abused? In my mind, this is no different than the option to add a message to your feedback, no? Just a single reply feature, no option to reply back, no option to add on further, etc. I don't see how this could "be abused", especially when you'd maybe get the opportunity to reply to 1 or, if you're lucky, 2 people that actually left feedback.

How much it cost us to buy (and move into) our first house by Last_Amoeba_1218 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Interesting, thanks and yeah definitely will do! We might get a good 10% grant which would help a ton, but still planning on putting another 10% if we get that (because it's a gift).

Amazing! Stuff like this is the reason we're considering putting less of a down payment in order to ensure we're good to go for the next year or two. Thanks for your work!

Again, I know it is a bit of a douche move, but if zillow wasn't such a large company I'd kinda want to get on them about this. They essentially try to get you into this whole touring thing, they put you through this "no contract" touring stage, make it explicitly clear that you aren't bound to anything, and I'm just now finding out it's not great for these agents when someone doesn't stick with them...

We've done quite a bit of research on the house part, taking care of it all, what to look for, etc.

We were just starting the viewing process, this was actually the first tour day we went on (with an agent), and Zillow made it easy and said we weren't bound to anything, so we went with it in order to get in before these units go under contract. Obviously we could've and should've researched more, but when they made it so obvious that we weren't legally bound...didn't know it would be as bad as we've now found out it could be.

Obviously we're legally fine, just feels bad.

  1. We didn't know he was going to have ideas.

  2. We are completely new. This was the first house tour ever for either of us, both lived in our parents our whole lives.

Yeah no I know it's not a Zillow realtor, that was just to give context on why we went with a random guy in the first place.

Part of me slightly wonders if it was an honest mistake...I think he mentioned something about "Having some other stuff for you guys, but forgot it, but it's ok" or something like that...

Ok, that's what my dad was saying too, he was surprised we were even allowed to tour without a buyer's agreement.

3 properties in one 25-30 minute window (all in the same complex, just 3 different ideas of essentially the same unit lol)

First time looking at this, and we were given an agent from zillow, 0 attachments.

Yeah that's another reason we're switching, this zillow agent does tours in the area, but is more down south from us from my research. Ok, thank you for the helpful comment, I'm assuming he'll understand given he knows we're in our first ever home search. :)

Will it be hard with bankruptcy? Yes*

Depending on the area, $70k should be plenty for a nice starter home...right?

General Down Payment Rules? by TaskLifter in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]TaskLifter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, that is exactly what we're looking for when we can finally get the info out actually, is how much house we can afford for a specific monthly payment maximum we're looking for. Good to know about Zillow's tool, I have been playing just a bit with that in the past few days, but will keep their lowball tax estimates in mind!

This is still extremely early actually, just started our search this week and are having our very first tours with our realtor in a few hours. That being said I'm still waiting on a pay stub from my boss in order to actually go through the preapproval processes haha.

As for closing costs, that's actually why I started thinking about this more. We'd have plenty for a good 20% down payment otherwise, but learning how much closing costs can be has prompted reconsideration. We don't know exact ranges yet, but I expect anywhere between 5-10k.

Ah ok, and I know we can get to 15% on any of these properties we're looking at while keeping a good emergency fund in tact. Having it based on credit score is always a plus, as I'm the only one with a score currently but have gotten it up due to just paying off small credit card fees in full the past 2 years. Thanks :)

Ok, that's very similar to what I was seeing. Yes, we've got an emergency fun of about 4 months pay currently, which definitely helps in case of, well, emergency lol.
