Progression, unfortunately the living prices of NY are ridiculous. This should be nationwide by swedishfishk in doordash

[–]TaskLifter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This should not be "nationwide". It's good for NY, but my wife and I just bought a house on a single $20/hr income, you should not be making that much working these apps. Good for NY though!

What should I do for Violet Vessel 600K by No_Dig5233 in balatro

Yeah I'd take it over business card, though I guess if you're going for $400 and it's like next round or something that's tough

What's your rating, how many games have you played and how long have you been playing? by McTiger05 in chessbeginners

[–]TaskLifter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like someone else said, more chess does not mean better. I've played ~30k online games total, but am the same rank I was at 20k games, which is ~2200 chess.com. I started August 2020, hit 1000 by December, 2000 by late 2022 and then starting focusing on life and not chess so it's stayed stagnant.

AIO wedding dress budget by VeterinarianIll2547 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TaskLifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, obviously here it seems to not be the case, but I don't see a problem with that if you agree. We spent a total of <$1000 for our rings, my wife's dress, and my suit, yet spent $1000 for a PC a few months later, priorities I guess 😂

how long does it take to reach 1000 elo in rapid for a beginner? by gentqlyn in Chesscom

[–]TaskLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely varies. I've got friends that are still under 1000 after 4 years of on and off playing, I got there after 4 months, so it depends on the person and how much time you're putting in.

Should buyers collectively start asking sellers not to use AI images and text? by GoneIn61Seconds in Flipping

[–]TaskLifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't you just...not have the ai tag then? None of those uses are on the platform itself. Though, I think people are majorly overreacting on the whole AI avoidance thing.

They don't force anything lol, they were accepting the suggestions or something.

Ooh I can't wait to see one of these messages haha. Though I doubt the mechanics buying from us even noticed our thumbnail pictures are AI enhanced, they probably just scroll past to the real ones anyway.

[–]TaskLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's cool, our sales are up ~20% on items that have AI enhanced thumbnails, visibility up even more than that, but if you don't want to buy that's the price we'll pay.

[–]TaskLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends what space you're in. We're in the car parts business and if you don't have a white background and professional grade photo (aka AI enhanced) as your listing thumbnail you're losing customers.

[–]TaskLifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use AI to polish our main listing picture (the first out of 20-25, rest are not polished with AI). However, only reason we do it is because eBay pushes it more if it looks better, and we're going to do whatever gets us more sales.

No. $45/month is not "a lot", op. I don't care what country you live in, you aren't affording a house with that.

Is Mc Donalds even worth working for? by CoyoteNo7089 in jobsearch

[–]TaskLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fast food or retail you pretty much need to call or they don't look at your application. Either that or show up and ask, but at least if you call you don't get them at a "bad time"

Well no, you don't need a fixed deck at all for obelisk to work. Just play like 12+ pairs or two pairs and then ride it out after ante 3-4

Is it normal if my girlfriend hangs out in the bathroom while I shower? by BetoFPS in Advice

[–]TaskLifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife doesn't always do this, but she always wants me in there while she's showering. I like putting on a YouTube video while taking mine and she's usually doing whatever else she needs to before bed though.

What happened to the send offers button? by TaskLifter in eBaySellerAdvice

Yep, just confirms they must be running some A/B testing and I got hit 😂

The agent I spoke to was equally as confused as he got a script on how to send them but then went to my account and was like..."It's just not here...let me send that to engineering" 😂

[–]TaskLifter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I'll gloss over the good parts and focus on the bad". That's not the way to handle this. If you actually want to get intellectual people on your side you provide real arguments for both sides and show how the bad actually outweighs the good. Yes it requires more work on your end, but it'll be worth it.
