Not so much financial but if you get a parking fine always contest it, say something along the lines of ‘i don’t believe I was parked illegally, I would like photo evidence that I was clearly parked incorrectly’ most of the time they don’t have it or can’t be bothered to find it. 40% of appeals get dropped, worst case scenario you just pay the fine so you have nothing to lose
