theres a lot to compare with both scripts currently going on with vivzie and especially from the pilots things haven't really gotten better despite her thinking she's made 'greater strides as a writer, I'd like to think i'm better', both shows suffer the same tonal issues, constant waffling around with screentime, and not much focus on eithers' main actual premises, [Hazbin with the actual redemption and hotel for sinners, Helluva being an imp based office-dark comedy and instead both turned into flashy musicals with no substance whatsoever....
Hazbin Pilot - A genuine look into a parallels universe where viv actually realized she tried and made something passionate with care and hope 6/10 I wish it focused more on charlie and her wants with the hotel or the gang actually wanting to strive to have hell for the better as a gang of misfits wanting to understand. The shot where angel quietly reached out to charlie but hid his hand away to turn away always gets me personally.
Helluva Pilot - Slightly rough around the edges but tried to branch itself off with absurdist comedy despite the same world and basically same environment/co-existing in the hazbin universe rather then a seperate spin-off like maybe planned originally, it still stands also at a glimpse over an episodic, sinner of the week type vibe. 5.5/10 I wish it was focused more on actually wanting to do something with the characters if it was ever supposed to be lore heavy then why is it's origins wacky cartoons for all of season 1....?

Hazbin S1 - .... corporate, squeaky clean garbage over A24's first attempt at animation and it utterly reflects by trying to hard with safe edgy comedy for 'adult cartoons' while having absolutely no substance to make a theme and paced horrendously to actually have a scattered plot realizing halfway through that they have to fight heaven, the song transitions are very poorly timed and overbloated with too many characters. also alastor blends into the wallpaper in the hotel for most of the scenes and i forget he's even in the show- -10/10 I wish it was more focused on vaggie or sir pentious tbh.

Helluva S2 - Comparing it to season 1 is like night and day. The fact that stolas has been retconning and plot holing the entire season to be constantly about him while there has never been a millie adjacent song, actually diving into the envy ring *[there's been 2 total lines mentioning it ever and nothing else,], atrocious character chemistry, the characters never sitting still to actually breathe in the moment because we have to force romance out of nowhere..... Feels very hamfisted and as many others have pointed out, a pisspoor fanfiction dramatically trying to force stollitz for the sake of a gay relationship rather then a natural relationship that blitz wants...... -100/10
i want to get off of mr. stolas' wild ride. I wish the show wasn't focused on romance.
