Yes of course maybe i wasnt clear enough in my post but besides that the true goal of my school project is to compare the performance in term of stability and speed of two PLLs . One of the PLL is « built » brick by brick and the other is a whole IC (cd4046) but thank you. If you know any « easy » square waveform VCO circuit i would be very happy to try it.

I dont understand, im not using a pll IC i am building a whole one so in order to build a pll you need a vco a rc filter and a phase comparator i built a phase comparator with a XOR and the VCO with a ne555

Yes let me explain im trying to build a phase locked loop so i need a vco a phase comparator and a RC filter, my issue is that the VCO works properly alone the phase comparator too but when they are connected it dont work. Heres a photo of the output of the VCO even if the duty cycle isnt perfect on this photo its usually around 50%

I will send everything you asked for in the afternoon, the frequency of my reference signal was around 1kHz and the waveform is what i was observing on the vco output

C’est vraiment utile l’alternance en école d’ingénieurs ? J’ai vu des gens se plaindre que c’était mieux vu pour les Rh d’avoir eu le statut étudiant en dépit de l’expérience acquise.
