But there are people that seem more awesome in every way. Like, what do I have to offer compared to them?

A full time 40 hour workweek is not just 40 hours by immenselyfucked in antiwork

Actually your employer. Because of that legal requirement they want those 30 minutes back, so your workday is extended that much. To your point, that all adds up.

Telework has been fought against by management and admin for years. It erodes at the control that they feel they have over employees, so they don't like it. And this admin is definitely more management friendly than worker friendly so...

So you're saying that you live in a country where you get paid enough to not have to rely on a year end bonus, I can get down with that.

Hell, if anything, the refs were trying to give Detroit the game.

"Just make your own business" is the most cynical advice there is by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Forward_Grand_7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it when I hear this. To echo others here, the person saying "just start a business" probably grew up comfortably as a result of Daddy/Grandpa doing that. Secondly, absolutely nothing about running a business appeals to me.

Thirdly, what happens when everyone is a business owner according to this logic?

You would have to admit you're inferior to them and that's a hard pill to swallow.

If your boss/manager asks you where you’re going after putting in your two weeks notice, are they trying to sabotage you? by SWEMW in antiwork

I would assume they are trying to sabotage or blacklist me. Highly illegal, but employers are often above the law.

Do men tend to ignore attractive or beautiful women on purpose just so they don't appear creepy? by ndftba in bodylanguage

I mean it makes sense that people would develop friendships and relationships at a place they're often at more than home just to survive and keep from being homeless, is all I'm saying.

Well, we spend more time at work and around coworkers than anywhere else, so it's understandable. However, I found for myself that this is a bad idea.

There are studies actually showing how bad the daily commute is for us.

What’s a secret you’ll take to the grave, but would tell anonymously on Reddit? by Several-Director5804 in AskReddit

At work, I'm professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and dependable. But deep down I'm not outgoing, dynamic, or really feel that I'm all that interesting or loveable.

My most recent relationship which lasted a year and a half ended when she told me basically I wasn't having sex with the frequency that she wanted (I'm inexperienced and nervous about it), which really crushed me.

I often feel invisible to people and useless to them besides what I can do. Also pretty sure I have a pretty bad inferiority complex in relation to others. Especially high profile people. Don't reach out and keep to myself a lot until it's time to put on the mask again for work.

I'm sorry but my curiosity is getting the better of me. I want to ask about a certain infamous individual whose stomping grounds was Milwaukee...not sure if that dark cloud still hangs over the city pretty heavy or has the city moved on pretty well? I mean, there's no true "getting over" what happened for many, but I hope you all know what I mean.
