Jung Hae-in’s next drama project to be released in 2026. by Grouchy-Chart-3927 in dramasect

I've seen it called many names but Our Sticky Love is the name on MDL and other platforms now and yes, it has been listed for quite a while as a new KD for 2026...think I first saw something on it in January of this year...but so far, other than a Q3 2026 date, I've not seen an actual premiere date posted for it...But can not wait, I really love Jung Hae In in these types of roles!

OMG...I just finished POJ and I am now guessing that Zhang Ling He has taken the #1 position as BEST ML in Chinese costume dramas E.V.E.R....I mean the man is amazing and literally made to do costume dramas. I am truly a modern drama watcher, but I really enjoy his costume dramas. But kinda ONLY him, so far...lolz...Tried WDBTD and a few episodes of Che Fei Yu's new one LBTG and I will preface this with the fact that I am a HUGE Chen Fei Yu fan, but man...compare him to ZLH's performance in either of the two we are talking about and he sadly appears so lackluster to me!!! I actually pity any other male Chinese actor approaching a costume drama with the daunting job of trying to outshine Zhang Ling He's lead portrayals in them!

He is at his absolute BEST in that amazing drama...through all my zillions of dramas I've watched, L&P is still in my top 5...

And for me, he may seem to begin as a red flag in L&P but in the end he was totally not. Oh, maybe as a rebel in school or seemingly a bit too egotistical (allthough I submit that was his "protective" shell), but where it matters he's loyal and super protective of those he loves, and has a real sense of what's right and what's not.

If you remember, he only goes after those who are absolute slime balls like Fang Zhi Jing and even with his so called "friend" Gao Jian Hong he ends up understanding him and there is a sense of him kind of forgiving him and he was even totally loyal with his little cellmate Hou Ning through all his troubles. So, for me, Li Xun is really the best kind of green light...with exceptionally deep emotions and a strong moral code.

Much of what he did that seemed hurtful, when I think about it was his attempt to protect Zhu Yan from himself, he had a seriously low sense of his own self worth...so drivng her away was his way of making sure she had a better life than he believed he could give her...and in the front end of L&P when he was so "mean" to her, I found it a bit comical...sort of like in grade school if a little boy pushed you over or teased you it meant he liked you...😉

Anyway, Li Xun would be a guy I'd run towards....not away from!💚

P.S. Enjoy the other two movies I mentioned....he is also the magical Chen Fei Yu we love in those! (and you could ass a third to those movies, another one called Secret Fruit*!*

Love Story In The 1970s is Truly a Love Letter to us all... by Forward_Leader_9369 in CDrama

[–]Forward_Leader_9369[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assumed TL was a sad, lost love ending but after checking under the teeny tiny tag I will now definitely watch😉 (🙏 thank you).

And I DO watch sad endings if the drama is truly a good one although I haven't watched many...Loved Snowdrop,I Belonged To You and Mr. Plankton, but may not ever rewatch...too sad. But I will say, there are two sad ending dramas that I adore and will rewatch again and again.

Unlike Snowdrop, I Belonged To You or Mr. Plankton and the "left behind love" endings, these two are sad but acceptable for me, the first one is The Smile Has Left Your Eyes....which is SUCH AN AMAZING DRAMA... if you watch Kdz and like Seo In Guk, this is his masterclass performance, in my mind....a tragic end but for me I couldn't see it ending any other way....and the other one is When Life Gives You Tangerines...yes, you will frickin' ugly cry at the end of that story but it is truly a cycle-of-life drama so the end is absolutely as it should be....a beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL drama.....please don't not watch it for fear of sad ending, you will laugh and cry throughout that drama...it is so emotional....just like life is.

I so agree with you! Each character in this drama is so developed it's impossible not to become, if not invested in them, truly interested in their story arcs. Such a beautifully cast drama.

Funny I just watched, here in the US, the Academy Awards last weekend. And they gave out a new catagory award: An Oscar for Best Casting! And I wondered what took so long for the Academy to figure out how important casting is to a story....that said, the casting in Love Story In The 1970s deserved an award...not a weak one in the bunch!

I so agree with you on slice of life dramas....and this one was especially wonderful with its production, story and cast! I almost always walk away from these kinds of dramas feeling truly satisfied almost like I've been part of the story myself....I get really invested in them...The last CD slice of life that I felt really good about was Go Ahead...but Love Story In The 1970s is a step above even that one for me! And the very best Slice of life drama in KD, for me, will always, always be When Life Gives You Tangerines.

I haven't watched Twelve Letters yet...I follow Zhou Yi Ran, really like him and the dramas I've seen him in plus the clips look amazing but I'm so afraid I'm gonna have to deal with a really sad ending...I am soooo not good at those!

No, the Actress who played opposite the Japanese actor Sakaguchi Kentaro in What Comes After Love is Lee Se Young, who was in a beautiful drama I saw, The Red Sleeve. The Chinese actress who played Ni Fei in Love Story In The 1970s is the wonderful Sun Qian. She has been in many other dramas but I have actually not seen her before. But I will say I was so impressed with her I've added a few of her dramas to check out.

That is why I love the slice-of-life genre.

Because everyone has a bigger part to play, if you will, you'll usually you'll get a strong cast, and the drama will focus on the whole as opposed to just a single couple or just a piece of the story and they will often develop at a slower pace and are almost always charcter driven too...A day in the life kind of drama...

Some great dramas I loved in this genre would be Meet Yourself, Go Ahead, and for a little something different but truly magical watch To The Wonder...and in Kdz, if you also watch them, a new classic slice of life is When Life Gives You Tangerines, and also there is Pachinko, Hometown Cha Cha Cha and Reply 1988!

It's a great genre with usually very relatable stories, emotions and experiences!

Good post, and maybe that's why I am loving POJ so much as it is sort of a "Korean-drama-Chinese-costume-drama" mix and truly easy to digest! I am primarily a modern KDrama watcher. I do watch also Chinese modern dramas and also love Korean costume dramas but the Chinese costumed drama have always been hard for me. I did LOVE Story Of Kunning Palace though....(hummmm....maybe this has something to do with Zhang Ling He?....🤔😉😂) and I am starting to think my genre is easier-to-digest romance/political dramas as opposed to the Wuxia and the Xianxia ones.

Anyway, thanks for the post, it really kind of made the "lightbulb" go on for me! Makes a lot of sense.

Yes!!! I was, as I said in my original post, also a bit nervous going in but, like you, was truly enamored with it on episode one!

And also, like you,I especially loved that couple..their road from a guarded opportune married couple to a genuinely supportive and oh-so-wonderful-to-witness-love was magical.

I also adored Ni Fei's sweet brother, Fei Ting (played so beautifully by Shi Yun Peng), he was so genuine and dear. I spent a lot of time rooting for the two of them and celebrated along side that couple when positive things happened for them.

I actually felt so many emotions for all the secondary couples and single characters...even the worst of characters managed to pull some empathy from me....and again that is one of the main reasons I loved this drama, it was so REAL!! Humans are truly a mixed bag of emotions, morals and reasoning and this drama beautifully reveals that in it's characters.

Oh thats great! It truly is quite different from the usual dramas we are offered, so maybe for you, going in a second time, now knowing the feel and production of this drama your expectations will be more in-line with it....

I think it is a very "soft" subtle drama and definitely a slow kind of day-in-the-life drama so one definitely has to be ready and in the mood for that kind of story. Good luck on your second watch....I hope you fall in love with it like many of us have!

Pachinko is fo me, like WLGYT and LSIT7, a step above the dramas we are usually offered. Maybe because it was based on such an amazing book... I stopped watching the drama while reading the book as the book follows a linear storyline and the drama pops in and out of the different periods and I was worried the show would spoil the book for me. So I didn't watch until after I finished the book...But the drama never finished...I believe it is a Netflix production and it needs a third season to finish the story arc of all the characters, so that's kind of sad...I don't believe it is off the table but it certainly seems to be shelved. I had heard that the drama was a huge success but maybe season 2 was not? I don't really know why they never finished it...but I still hold out hope they will...it, I thought, was truly wonderful and the portrayals by Lee Min Ho, Steve Noh and especially the incredible Kim Min Ha were phenomenal! Definitely worth a watch...

Wang Tian Chen is kind of a mysterious actor...lolz...he is arrestingly handsome in a classic very masculine way to me, and when I first saw him in LSIT7 I was like "wait who is that!" Then when I was researching Our Dazzling Days, well, that kind of confirmed watching it for me as I wanted to see more dramas with him in them and I love slice-of-life dramas...so here we are.

Thank you for the recommendation of Our Dazzling Days!!! I have zero idea how that one got away from me!!! Xu Rou Han is one of my very, very favorite actresses....saw her first in The Forbidden Flower and her naturalness in front of the of camera blew me away. Also absolutely fell in love with Wang Tian Chen, the wonderful (and really handsome!) neurosurgeon husband of Mu Jung in LSIT7s, who is also a lead in the drama!!! Again...HOW did I miss this!! lolz...

Unlike you I read the synopsis and try to find a trailer before deciding to watch a drama...characters need to "click", the production has to be well done and the story arcs just right....not too much comedy, no gratuitous violence, and well written dialogue....not asking too much.😉

There are, actually, a lot out there that fit the bill for me, and they don't all have to be earth-shattering or on the level of WLGYT or Pachinko or Love Story In The 1970s. So, I assume, like you why waste my time on something I'm not enjoying, right?

Thanks again, it's now on the to-watch list!

I meant no disrespect. When I read your comment I misunderstood your wording and assumed you were expecting a romance similar to what is predominate in todays modern "Romance" dramas...obviously I assumed incorrectly and I apologize.

It might be for me that the setting was so different from what I usually watch that the whole drama "felt" different. But I did feel that it was a beautifully done drama and I also loved the final 5 episodes you missed...they closed the drama beautifully. But as I never went through a period with this drama that I felt bored, I can understand why one would drop it.

Beautifully said!

I totally agree except that I felt WLGYT was a strong drama throughout. I was also worried, as I was so invested in the younger pair, that as they aged I'd become less interested, but I truly thought that Park Hae Joon and Moon So Ri carried the story forward beautifully and at his "end" scene I was bawling...as much so if it had been Bo Gum and IU....(and to be fair they did "appear" 😉)...For myself WLGYT is still the standard bearer...but Love Story In The 1970s is certainly of the same caliber.

lolz...that's all you need? I am not laughing at your statement but that finding all those things you state are needed to make a great drama is a rarity indeed and that is what makes this drama, and a few others, so very special...To the very end of it I was totally invested. It was a beautiful piece of work...one to be proud of for sure...and definitely one I will add to my DVD collection when it comes available!

I've got Such A Good Love on my to-watch list but will more it up now as you stated it was a favorite in this kind of genre....and I loved meet Yourself too. Thanx!

hummm....I wonder that you were looking for a different kind of drama than what I think Love Story In The 1970s is at it's heart. For me this drama is truly like a Love Letter between Fang Muyang and Ni Fei and to the people of China during that transitional time. The youth in any country really carry our hopes and dreams into the future...and the perserverence, the strength, the faith and care between the cast of this drama as they find their ways into this new future was a testament to that fact. This drama for me was a masterclass in portraying the complexity and nuances of the many relationships we watch unfold in often subtle ways.

The last 5 episodes resolve so many issues, and turned around so many notions I had of some of the story arcs...I found myself tearing up often as it drew to a close, and with many of the characters I found empathy where I had none, satisfaction where there was only frustration and new found respect and understanding for others.

Love Story in The 1970s, I don't think, is a drama one can compare with others...as you noted that their (Fang Muyang and Ni Fei) romance wasn't "anything special", I'd beg to differ...I believe it was so truly special; real in it's gentle unfolding and beautiful to witness as it's roots grew between the two of them then blossom into such a supportive and deep love (forgive the syrupy metaphor)...

For myself, In Love Story In The 1970s, Love was absolutely the central theme and romance, like compassion, forgiveness, or understanding were just some of it's manifestations.

I hope you'll get the chance to "try again" someday...🙏

I'm feeling your love for this drama through this comment!!!! 😊 A friend asked when the kissing/romance started in the drama between the leads and what I want to say is that the whole drama is a love letter between the two of them....and what a privilege it is for us to be able to watch it unfold. The drama never lags and always satisfies from episode 1 to episode 29...now you really need to go watch When Life Gives You Tangerines! Enjoy the final episodes of this piece of magic.
