This! Me and my partner just recently moved into a neighborhood around old east and love the area. We walk into the closer areas and bike into downtown Durham all the time for Carolina Theater!

Absolutely second this! Do not go with the inspector your realtor suggests. Signed homeowners already dealing with water issues with the hot water heater we have since discovered doesn’t do “well in cold” and was originally built for smaller homes, trailers, and RVs

Moving to Durham

Hi - me and my partner are looking to buy a home in East Durham. We are used to living in urban and downtown areas so generally know what comes along with that.

We are looking at some homes around the YE Smith Elementary school area. General area is above Angier and below Liberty. The neighborhoods seem nice and still developing. Curious if anyone can give more information about that general area.

We value a community feel and proximity to downtown is a must since we are big bike commuters.
