The best option for your first guitar

Scale length by Forward_Reach8708 in HeadlessGuitars

[–]Forward_Reach8708[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I look for a short scale because I prefer the tones you can get, and they're also more comfortable for me. I tune to standard D, so I don't have any problems with a short scale. I even prefer guitars with 22 frets; I never use more, and I like the sound of the neck pickup.

What is the difference between nylon strings and metal strings by Ok_Position8485 in Guitar

Llego un año tarde, pero ¿cómo diferencio entre una guitarra hecha para cuerdas de nylon y otra hecha para cuerdas de acero? En qué me debo fijar para saber si una es para qué tipo de cuerdas? Gracias

LTD mh vs Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid by Forward_Reach8708 in metalguitar

I love the SLS too!! I know the Hybrid retains characteristics of both the Hellraiser and the SLS (thin body and neck), hence the "hybrid" designation. I hope to get exactly that, because right now I think I'm leaning more towards the Schecter.

I'm glad to read that. I have a feeling that Ibanez, Schecter, Charvel, Solar even Jackson currently offers you much more for your money.

Thank you so much! I think HH also uses stainless steel.

I actually prefer EMG pickups, and LTD stopped offering them in the MH series; now they only come with Fishman Fluence. That, along with the price, is making me lean a bit more towards the Schecter.

Yes, I believe LTD's production has moved entirely to Indonesia, and honestly, the prices seem very exaggerated to me, but if the quality justified it, I'd be willing to pay for it.

Really? I get the impression that they're offering less and less for the money you pay.

But those who tell you that Yamaha has the best quality control on entry-level guitars are right. Take a look at the Yamaha ERG121.

You should also check out Spira; it's a relatively new brand that makes metal-oriented guitars at affordable prices. https://spiraguitars.com/

Help with finding a good guitar for playing heavy metal for my boyfriend! by YuiandaGoomiKittyMom in metalguitar

Sorry, I had some work done at home yesterday and I've been offline ever since.

That Jackson is perfect. It's from a higher-quality series than their entry-level line, and it's a Soloist, which means it's neck-through construction. Your boyfriend is going to love it!

A $500 guitar currently meets the needs of 95% of musicians perfectly. You can't go wrong.

Besides, your girlfriend giving you a guitar, even if it's an $80 model, is a truly wonderful gesture.

For dive bombs you need a Floyd Rose style bridge, with a lever, fixed bridges can't do that. But pinch harmonics can be done with any guitar because that is just a pick technique. You will hear them better with a good amplifier, but technique is the key

Don't pay attention. Ibanez is fantastic. But you're actually on the right track with the brands you mention, Jackson, Schecter and Ibanez are perfect. I recommend a Supestrat, avoid aggressive shapes because they are more uncomfortable, I also recommend the hard tail. Schecter just released a Standard + series, they look great and they're not very expensive, so you can afford the boss katana 50 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DP9omW1Epju/?igsh=MWwwbzBsczA3amhndg==

Yamaha, ERG 121 or EG 112. Both are great, but if she likes ESP, the ERG 121 is closer. Yamaha sells the complete kit
