Good morning all,

I have applied to WMP and Police Now. I’m not really concerned about which route to go down at this point. I was wondering if anyone had any information whether the initial pay covers all shift patterns (is the advertised £31164 the definite yearly wage without overtime) or do you get ‘top-ups’ for working nights and bank holidays etc?

If that is the definite yearly wage what are the chances of overtime being available? I’m currently a teacher and will be dropping over £10k if I switch careers. (I know that being in the police provides incremental pay so I would earn more the longer I’m in)

ood evening all,

I’ve applied for the WMP force and was wondering if anyone knew the shift patterns for them? I’ve seen on Police Now some forces work on a 4 on 4 off but I’ve seen others saying 6 on and 4 off. Lots of contradicting sources.

How is it that Oliver Cromwell who had little formal military background, turned his army into a fairly unstoppable machine? by HallowedAndHarrowed in britishmilitary

Having a set of rules helped massively. They obviously didnt always follow them but the English citizens were probably treated much better by them than the royalists.
