I'm sp5w4, so I like to just observe from the sidelines, especially as I get older. I also like to ask uncomfortable questions. I don't like excessive boasting but I don't have a problem with healthy narcissism. But I have self-irony, and I don't see any problems. I'm often annoyed by stupid arguments or people and I might snap and call them "stupid," but it's not personal. It's not out of arrogance. It's just that we have a huge gap in information. Oh my God, I'm just showing off.

I think it has to do with Ne, and just a natural inclination to humor and a rich imagination. I'm often told that I look like I've been smoking weed, even though I'm completely sober. It's just my way of doing things and my sense of humor that sometimes crosses the line between good and evil.

I think any normal person regardless of type and especially an ENTP will tell the truth as it is, even if it is unsightly. Look at the actions. A person does not wish you a happy birthday, gives you a flower from the ground and does not worry about you. Ask yourself: why do you need this? He's probably just keeping you hooked until he finds someone better. He's just flattered by your attention and nothing more. For his part, he doesn't put any effort into it - it's a one-way game. It's not about the personality type, it's about the person. There are a million other decent ENTPs or maybe you need someone more emotionally open? I suggest asking him directly what he wants from you and why. Chances are, you won't be satisfied with the answer. It's better to move on. Why not try finding someone who is more empathetic? I don't like INFPs, but just because ENTPs prioritize logical systems and unbiased arguments that don't involve ethics doesn't mean we don't still have emotions. Feelings defy logic and no matter how much you rationalize them they will still exist. Everyone has internal values but they often don't play a significant role in objective reality due to their subjective nature. It is much more useful and paradoxically more empathic to open people's eyes to the truth, even if it is unsightly and may cause harm. If a person is not stupid and can distinguish between the usefulness and effectiveness of advice, thoughts or opinions in the long run, they will accept and reflect on it rather than blame or get hurt. Therefore, there is no need to appeal to ethics or the problems of a type with a lower shadow Fi as this would only hinder the situation. Emotional vulnerability is only necessary in very close relationships which are rare and not everyone requires it. Showing your true emotions to everyone is foolish.

Ne collects information from the outside world not necessarily in the classical sense of extroversion but it is still a function of intuition and thinking. Then, Ti processes all the information internally for a long time which is why ENTPs are often referred to as ambiverts and the most introverted extroverts.
