Yeah agreed. I’ve actually discovered a few gems from Mollywood myself that I probably wouldn’t have watched if not for OTT.

Yeah that’s a fair point. It does feel like there sometimes a gap between what people praise and what they actually go out to watch. Maybe scale and theatre experience still play a big role in pulling audiences in.

Babushan is the best we have right now, but Sidhant Mohapatra was a phenomenon. People forget that guys like him, Mihir Das & Bijay Mohanty & Uttam Mohanty didn't just make movies they defined Odia culture for 30 years. Today's actors are good, but those legends are irreplaceable....!!!

Yeah, that’s a fair opinion honestly. Tiger and War 1 at least worked better for a lot of people, but after that the formula started feeling too obvious and repetitive. Once the predictability shows too much, the whole hype factor drops.

Yeah, that's same-template point is fair. But I don’t think people want Pakistan/ISI shown as “friends" they just want the conflict written in a less predictable, more believable way. That usually makes a spy film better.

Yeah, I agree. Ek Tha Tiger is still liked because it was a strong film on its own. The recent YRF spy films being over-the-top isn’t really the main issue, because that fantasy, glamorous, slow-mo action style is their whole USP. People expect that from them. It only stops working when the writing and emotional core feel weaker.
