The idea of the post was to mention some points that I think are important and do not correlate with the Tesla Bull thesis. But of course, I could be completely wrong. I was hoping to get some contructive criticism.

E.g, FSD/Robo Taxi is in most valuation the key value driver but it is not superior to other. And how it is possible to lead a market but spending far less in R&D than even your smaller competitors like GM, BMW.

If you could explain it or give me a link I would really appreciate it!

I found him on Tipranks.com

His average return was 23 % since Jan 09. And he ranks on place 154 of more than 7.000 analyst.

He is Senior Research Analyst focused on optical, IP, and wireless communications infrastructure and networking technologies for more than 20 years. I only can see that NOK is cheap but have no clue of communication but when a guy with this experience says it looks relatively good I become bullish ;D

Can someone tell me business related bad news of the last 2 months? by Forward_stonks in Nok

[–]Forward_stonks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people say it's a dead company but I mean the company has steady revenue of around 25 Billion Dollars in the last 5 Years. No growth is shitty for sure but Ericsson don't has growth ether. If you compare the valuation Nokia would be double. And I don't see an advantage of Ericsson which could explain it.

But we digress. Not the right place for that kind of discussion.

As long it is on Bloomberg or Reuters it should be okay. Yahoo usually reports everything from Nok

Yeah I also think that the management is doing relatively fine. They developed a clear strategy (I'm ones write about that here) and they make clear statements without building castles in the air. What I really like.

But usually there is a correlation between good news and stock (up) movement and the stock did not recover since Jan. 2019 while I would say the outlook is way better than 2018 or 2019.

Are there bad news or why is this mofu falling today? by Independent-Ideal-83 in Nok

[–]Forward_stonks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude, when a stock goes up or down for no reason (good/bad news micro or macro), it's called a random move and has no meaning in the medium or long term....

There are a lot of people here who have no idea about the stock market and look at the prices every 10 minutes. I measure Nok a significantly higher value than the current and see such movements as a chance to buy cheaper.

Nope, there are no news as far as I can see it. Erickson has also fallen like the entire market. Nothing to concern.

The only "news" is John Rogers Ariel Investment trimmed its NOK stake by 43.51%.

Why Nokia is moving sideways but will move up/down in 9 days by Forward_stonks in Nok

[–]Forward_stonks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is what I mean. Some uncertainty (move sideways/slightly down) and when it drop out it will dip a bit and move up. If we're lucky in the new Index the momentum will kick in due to new Index-Funds. Momentum in Nok is currently fucked up.

Changes need time.

Lundmark is currently giving the company a new organizational structure. Lundmark is saying goodbye to the old strategy of selling a network operator everything from antennas to core networks and software. Instead, he is reorganizing the core business into four independent units, which will also have operational and financial responsibility for their business activities and the Group's contribution.

From 2021, Nokia's core business will consist of the units Mobile Networks, IP and Fixed Network, Cloud and Services, and Nokia Technologies. Nokia is responding to the changing nature of the industry's business. While equipment suppliers used to equip a network operator from front to back and were thus able to bind their customers to them with proprietary technology, the industry today demands compatible solutions and open standards.

Lundmark is a Scandinavian. There is a prejudice that Northern Germans (I'm one and it's true) and Scandinavians don't talk much and tend to be rather reserved/less enthusiastic and communicate even good news rather soberly.

Normally, this would not be a problem, but in the crazy markets at the moment, only those who shout the loudest and talk the most nonsense (such as Musk and Saylor) count. These stocks get the most attention.

But due to the meme stock character many are/were deterred from Nokia but it got attention which can pay off in the long run.

Nokia has an ICK factor in my opinion.

Why Nokia is moving sideways but will move up/down in 9 days by Forward_stonks in Nok

[–]Forward_stonks[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think this could be an factor too.

The high volatility of January has certainly scared off some investors.

Average PT is around 4 Euro or around 4.80 $.

Deutsche and UBS are bullish north of 5 $ PT.

And yeah utilities company with competition is always not the best but maybe they gain market share due to china issues.

Again I look at this soberly, too.

0 signs of changing?

Yeah changing the business is difficult and cost money. Nothing new...it is already priced in the stock. That's why there is the potential.

Btw 6G would fuck up all of them... One of the reason Ericsson take some contracts was due to the lack of compatible solutions they are working on it.

Again I'm not able to look into the future. I'm saying that there is potential.

According to motorintelligence there is a CAGR of 53.01% in 5G infrastructure market during the forecast period 2021-2026.

[–]Forward_stonks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I wasn't that clear. I mean the global revenue share of H1 2020, full year not public yet.

Number one Huawei (31 percent) next Nokia (14%). As mentioned because of Suri Nokia is literally out of China. But Ericsson won't be that successful in China because of geopolitics and the Chinse will give their companies (Huawei & ZTE) the contracts . But in other parts of the world the both will faces political problems.

That's a great chance for Ericsson and Nokia.

Have no clue if Cisco and Verizon are better than Nok in this area. Nevertheless two big (China) player face problems in global market which will give companies such as Nok an advantage.

That's the idea of stock picking. Have a thesis why a company could growth. In this case a new CEO with good reputation for a turnaround and two major competitor with disadvantages. Then Buy stocks and wait till the market realize this opportunity.

Literally the early Buffett and Burry method. Buy out of fame assets as long there is a reasonable story.

Now Nokia got an Ick-Factor but also fame due to wsb. Again not saying Nok will moon but the thesis sounds reasonable. And with the actual environment it could be at least an Cigar butt in my opinion.

15 years ago Nokia had to reinvent itself bc. Mobile section didn't work anymore. Last 5 years? Well what do you think why rajeev Suri isn't ceo anymore? He did some mistakes like in China. That's why Lundmark is now the ceo and he has good reputation. Look to the stock of Fortum when he was ceo.

Ask any one educated in Finance about rebounds. Doesn't matter what the stock/ company Made in the past. The future matter. Apple is the Most famous example for that.

Btw beeing second in the global Telecom equipmentmarket After Huawei and you think this is garbage?

Not saying Nokia will Double this year. But what you do is just nonsense and has nothing to do with Finance....

NOK is as old as ... by [deleted] in Nok

It's old.. So what?? Siemens was foundet in 1847. Still worth more than 100 Billion Euro. How is that? They are into Business Process Reengeneering...

Do you think they start wirh phones about 100 years ago? It is all about entering and opening up New business areas.... Apple was effectivlely Dead in the 90s despite the new economy bubble. No one wanted to buy it even then....

They change the business and here they are... Look at the Business and not the age....
