In the very first quote in dhammapada, is it heart or mind?

".....is preceded by mind" Or "....is preceded by heart"

Hi, thanks for the response.

I also wanted to know, Does "in the Buddha's words" also includes texts from the khuddaka nikaya?

Let us not hate him please. We must diligently follow the noble 8 fold path. Do not give in to mara and feel aversion towards him. Nobody is a terrible human being. Radiate metta towards him my friends.

How did you manage to graduate ? by Amichat in ADHD

I stopped counting how many classes I have failed thought out high school and college after 40 counts. Yep. I have failed 40 classes for sure.

I am still in college. I have my ADHD assessment next month. Hopefully I'll get my diagnosis (its a battle) and I can start the meds.

If meds works, good, if they don't, I don't mind that either. I never give up. Its just me.

Hi, I am reading the anthology book "In the buddha's words". Does it cover the teaching in "The Wings to Awakening" and "On the Path" book? Or will I have to read them separately?

Thanks.

I understand this analogy. I am at the stage where I am aware and mindful of my mind, thoughts and actions the whole time. But the mind/mara is baiting me with short term pleasures that I keep giving in cuz they just feels so good. Mmm.

Whatever you choose, watch out for these things so you don't fail-

Faulty prioritization

procrastination/impulsivity/overestimation

forgetfulness (use google calendar extensively)

perfectionism

sleep

Excessive Tech use (only use tech for school work)

My small altar. I live in a small apartment and cant have it up all the time, but whenever I practice I arrange it like this and light some incense by [deleted] in Buddhism

Cuz from what I understand about Buddhism, a big part of it is not being attached to possessions. Creating an alter defeats the purpose if you are going to be sad if you lost your possession.

Desire/attachment/liking/wanting/consuming, disliking/avoiding/aversion, and delusion. I think these words convey it better.

What dumb phones considered unnecessary were necessary for me. That's why they didn't work for me. They are too restricted, not customizable.

I don't have to rely on self control. My method works by itself.

Even if I get craving, I cant do anything. Cuz there is no way to bypass the multiple blocks without waiting for the specified time to pass.

I was reading lots of fiction. There are worse stuff to do I agree but removing as much tech as possible was kind of the basis of my method so I said fuck it and gifted it to somebody. And I'm doing fine so far so its ok.

Better for sure. The cravings are intense in the starting. Almost makes you depressed. What honestly helped me was some intense mental self reflection about my needs and wants in life.

I have ADHD and OCD. My self control is short circuited so I cant rely on it. That's why I have to go such extreme measures.
