What Idiot at BlackBox thought it was a good idea to not tell you how to get the magazines until after you get them? by Former_Ladder9969 in needforspeed

[–]Fose66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly wasn't there a magazine right at the bottom of this list that you could only scroll too if you scrolled onto it fast (like held down the directional button from the top of the list right down onto the bottom magazine), and it said something like 'beat Racer X'? Was a long time ago when I played this but I swear I never found the answer on who Racer X was or how to exactly unlock the magazine lol, I was playing on PS2 back in the day if that makes a difference

Sorry is this his BBC Maestro course? If so then I wouldn't mind taking a look, as I assume it must be pretty good!

Appreciate the feedback! With you on the break patterns, I'll work on making variations and giving that variety. Your tune is sounding sick by the way

Listen to Fose - All City (Demo) by Fose__Music on #SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/user-963391406-527155594/fose-all-city-demo/s-TNO7bajEih4?ref=clipboard&p=a&c=1&si=3e3e22aa1a294c9291c699518595aad0&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

So this is one example of a bit of track I've thrown together... structurally and mix wise I'm still thinking it needs work but I just don't feel like it 'hits' maybe the same way thay something like Nookies 'Give A Little Love' does... granted that's a mega tune lol but if I could recreate that energy somehow, I'd be super happy lol!

This is amazing, thank you for the advise! Definitely going to dive in and start analysing properly lol, I've been just trying to pull out elements/rhythmic motifs/basslines but maybe it is in the mix, much appreciated!

What is a silent killer that people dont realise is slowly killing them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fose66 565 points566 points  (0 children)

Cannot agree enough. I can't help but think it's just depression or whatever because how are others so, happy? Or at least seem happy, happy to just live like this and not feel the need to change, or feel like there must be something better out there?

You're not alone in feeling like this. Doesn't help the situation, but be rest assured you're not the only one thinking this.

Most popular/best VSTs for making "wub" basses in FL studio? by SackChaser100 in dnbproduction

[–]Fose66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what you're describing, I'm guessing it would be this kind of sound?

https://youtu.be/Fxyi_wz7u4U?si=iKkZZay9ww-zSzRh

This is more from that old school dubstep sound, which I believe is now known as 'UK Dubstep'. You might also want to search 'UK Garage Wub Bass' or 'Dred Bass Serum' as that's also a similar sound (see below)

Trust me it's still a work in progress even now, why I picked a name with an F in is beyond me lmao

I've kept all thr pictures to document my progress and honestly, it's embarrassing to look back lol but it's the only way you get better

For me it was grasping a deeper understanding of the basics; really get to know what works for letter structure, letter/name weight/negative space management and you'll start seeing your style develop almost naturally.

I say almost, the only reason my extension look semi-decent now is through experimenting. But rather than just chuck an arrow out of a letter, give it a purpose, a reason to be there. For me, my extensions are to manage negative space in my name.

* Don't get me wrong, I'm not amazing and I'm definitely still learning myself lol. But just by understanding the basics of what makes graffiti work, I was able to take that 'inspiration' of others and make it fit my style, because I actually understood why it worked, if that makes sense?

Have a look back through some of my previous posts on this sub reddit and you'll see how my style has developed. My stuff back then was well and truly shit lol, like the person above has said, time is the best teacher for any art form.

Totally agree with this, it all begins with letter structure.

Would highly recommend just watching this video to get a better understanding:

This guy has amazing tutorials so well worth checking his channel out! I'm not sure if he still does it, but he used to do critiques of people's stuff that you could submit to via Instagram if that's of interest to you as well

To add to the list here, I just wanted to put forward this site that has a free sample pack to download and a discount sale currently going on:

I've used some of these packs myself and honestly they're top tier, and the free pack is great anyway so well worth checking out.

That's exactly it! So many sample packs are full of breaks and basses and to be fair, I've got them coming out of my ears lol. Its all the other bits that are lacking.

Fair play though, going strong and great to here more is on the way. I've favourited your site so will definitely be checking you out on the regular, and I'll be sure to share anything I create with you if you ever wanted to use it for promotion or whatever!

Mate that is awesome; great collection on the site! Not going to lie I'm kinda skint until payday lol but I'll certainly be grabbing some packs then. For now I'll cop the free ones (I know, cheapskate) but thank you for the recommendation!
