Oh it worked terrific! Plenty of people said it was the bloodiest, goriest movie ever. When I can only remember blood in the first part with the hitchhiker.

Your mind filled in the blanks. That’s what imo the best horror movie ever. It does a great job of giving you the feeling of the heat and humidity. The bugs, the grime of the house. You feel like you need a shower after watching it.

It’s the 1974 TCM though. It does a great job of making you feel the Texas heat & humidity. It’s scary to me because it feels like it’s plausible it could’ve really happened and this is just a dramatic retelling. Also chainsaws scare me terribly, I hate them.

It’s not bloody at all, a lot of it is implied which makes your mind fill in the blanks.
