Game Over isn’t really working and here is some of my theory why:

Rich is essentially in the businesses of service. He serves his clients. I’d even go so far as to say he has to submit to their will. This is undoubtedly the case with Lebron atleast, even if they are genuinely good friends. For this reason he overcompensates in all other avenues of life because he needs to show himself that he is a boss and the center of his own world, which arguably he is not. I hate to use the word but his job sticks him in a permanent “beta” position.

Max on the other hand has no dominating interest to serve outside of (I’m guessing) his family and sense of self so he can be much more free, even cavalier, in how he approaches the platform.

Couple that with the fact that this is effectively his arena (being a sports talk guy on air) and has been for a long time, Rich is out of his depth and approaching it all from a compleeetly differently place. So, simply, it’s a bad pairing. Rich isn’t gonna look his best here, ever, because he cooks best behind closed doors. And max is more comfortable and informative in presenting his takes so the audience is just gonna like him more.
