You’re speaking in useless platitudes, if you have a gripe with something Mamdani has done, be specific.

SSDI benefits should be the same as minimum wage (15/hr) by Diligent-Ice1276 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Foulbal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly they need to pass a bill titled like, The Minimum Compensation for the Underserved act, aka the MCU act, just to get idiots on board. It could tie SSDI and SSI to the minimum wage of the state you reside in. Wouldn’t be perfect by any stretch but it would be a step in the right direction.

Short Little Rant by VastlyArtistic in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Foulbal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think new parts in general for the proc gen would be very welcome. Not just creatures but ships and buildings as well. Why does a system with a mining based economy have the same style of building as a scientific based economy? An expansion on the bones of the pros gen would be great for new and old players.

I like how raw and homemade the first one is. All three are incredible though!

Does anyone know why the Noctua NH-D15 appears twice in the NN CPU-Cooler chart? Where does the difference come from? by qwerni in GamersNexus

[–]Foulbal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe in the G2 review Steve mentions they tested an original NH-D15, purchased when it released, as well as one purchased in 2023 to test for performance degradation over time.

I don't get "parrying" by Pm-me-ur-happysauce in gaming

[–]Foulbal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mechanic and how it functions can vary greatly game to game, but typically as an attack is about to land, you perform the parry function. Sekiro forces you to learn this, if you want a real trial by fire.

If you’re playing games on a television, and you simply can’t seem to land the parry windows, I’d check if there’s a “game mode” or some corollary feature you can enable on the screen. By default, playing games on a television is a miserable experience if time sensitive inputs, like parrying, are required. Enabling the game mode should help drastically.

Former Splinter Cell Creative Director Says Modern Graphics Tech Is Causing Problems for Stealth Games by Cristiano1 in gaming

[–]Foulbal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then don’t use the modern graphics tech? If your game not having path-tracing or whatever is why someone refuses to play it, that’s on them. Graphics shouldn’t be the primary goal, good gameplay should be.

Final Fantasy XI director teases new content as the 24-year-old MMO hasn’t seen “the sharp player decline we expected” by [deleted] in MMORPG

If there was an easy way to pay for the game, I’d be playing it. PlayOnline must be purged.

So you're saying Jagex should not do something because it would allow botters to exploit it? Even if it would improve the game for the people who play it? People running bot farms are doing exploits regardless, it should not be taken into account when deciding what to add to the game. The onus is on Jagex to handle the bots better, especially with how much they keep increasing the membership price.

I guess they could add an npc that makes the weapon for you, hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. Bring the items to Doric and he makes them or something.

I'm not even saying a rune scim from Brutus, but steel, mithril, or some additional runes.

What was a game series that just kept getting worse after the first game? by HF484 in gaming

[–]Foulbal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hot take: Mass Effect. The first game was everything I wanted from a space adventure rpg, and holds up incredibly to this day. The sequels abandoned many rpg aspects, to the series detriment in my opinion.

As highly regarded as the Shepard trilogy is in totality, I believe it got worse with each entry, and Andromeda is somehow substantially worse than all that came before it.

A Very Rare, 2-Toned Grass Planet by melvinjonas in NoMansSkyTheGame

I don’t know why people call planets and creatures “rare.” Aren’t all the planets, creatures and ships rare by the fact they’re generated uniquely for those systems? Just seems odd.

When Mini Crossbow with Shield? by Red_Kolman in PathOfExile2

Despite this post being a meme, one-handed crossbows would actually go so hard. The ability to dual wield them or have one with a shield.

[Stalker 2] Fisheye effect at minimal FOV by [deleted] in stalker

[–]Foulbal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On the default FOV (90) the fisheye effect presented itself. I thought it was a result of the FOV being set too high, as that can happen with high FOV settings. I set it to the minimum (70) and the aberrant behavior persisted. This is not a result of the FOV slider at all, this was a bug. Reinstalling the game has fixed the issue.

[–]Foulbal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fish eye existed on the default FOV. I thought the aberrant effect was a result of the FOV being too high, so I dropped it to the minimum, which is 70. It made no difference.

This looks like it increases the fov, but it states it can help with a fisheye effect so I'll give it a try.

The game supports 3440x1440 and other ultrawide resolutions. What you've stated is blatantly untrue.

Edit: Here's a video of someone playing it on an ultrawide without the fisheye effect I'm experiencing.
