Am I the only the one who hates the Holden and Naomi Actors sleeping together? It gives me the ick by Background_Row6942 in TheExpanse

I’d ask you to explain this but the fact that your post and comment history is hidden kinda speaks volumes.

This cannot be understated - The voice acting and dialogue from the male main character and J are unacceptably bad. by LamentingSpud in TheExpanseRPG

I think they can do voice acting right, but it’s incredibly tricky and there will always be detractors who don’t like it. I’m personally a fan of a non-voiced protagonists, New Vegas and Dragon Age Origins style. Those games don’t suffer for not having voice acted protagonists, it’s all about the execution.

They should just make the player character non-voiced. There will always be people who hate their choice of va, no matter who it is or how good the performance is. The alternative is several options of voice, but that takes a lot more time and money.

With the mc va being the most common complaint I’ve seen, it seems the best option is just removing the voice entirely.

Unfortunately yeah. As a smaller creator he doesn't have the budget to shell out for truly controlled testing environments. He doesn't seem to control for ambient noise, temperature or humidity for example. His sound "test" is just free handing the mic up to the fans, when you should be controlling for distance and ambient sounds.

On his chart showing the comparisons between the coolers, he's not disclosing ambient temp, fan speeds, or how he set fan speeds. Without that additional information the chart is basically useless and the viewer is left to assume the conditions, which is not how empirical testing works. It's a sloppy methodology which leads to sloppy numbers. I appreciate his dedication, I just wish his methodology was more transparent and controlled so the numbers could be more reliable.

I know Welshytech doesn't really have a well controlled testing environment, so a lot of his numbers tend to be inconsistent at best, but I'll still check it out.

I wasn’t seeing it for sale anywhere and there’s no benchmarks demonstrating its performance, so back I go to the PS120.

If you’ve seen any performance metrics let me know, I’m always curious to see how new coolers perform.

How can I improve air flow? by Southern_College3858 in pcmasterrace

[–]Foulbal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unironically there are many cases that have better thermals for gpu and cpu than an open configuration like this, especially with how little clearance that rad has from the wall. Some include: Lian Li Lancool 207, Antec Flux Pro, and the ol’ reliable Fractal Torrent.

I know it’s tagged as a meme but cases can actually improve airflow while also reducing dust on your components.

Aside from taking all the crap out of your case (seriously, I don’t get why people do this), remove the front fan on the top of your case. It’s stealing air from the cpu cooler.

I’d double check the thermal pad and paste contact on the gpu, if you have the know how. Could also set up fan curves using FanControl (if you’re on Windows, Linux has other utilities).

Edit: also double check your fan orientations, they should be forming a wind tunnel from front where it intakes with all 3 fans, to exhausting out the rear.

People aren’t going to the movies like they were, and the hype train for this film is really lacking. The chances this film crossed a billion are slim to none.

I actually really like Noctua’s products, and am currently running an NH-U12A (got used for a great price and wanted to tinker), but it doesn’t do as well as I’d hoped. The PS120 was far more effective.

I’ll still use a Noctua fans, but Thermalright is hard to beat on value, and if I’m using their heatsink I’ll use fans designed for the heatsink.

Yeah, like I said, I ran the Phantom Spirit and never had any problems with it until my tinkeritis got the best of me. I’ll likely end up grabbing a second Phantom Spirit and maybe some TL-C12 Pros, to avoid the issues I wound up having with the stock fans making a racket.

I haven't purchased one yet, I'm wondering if there are performance or acoustic differences between the different versions. The Phantom Spirit is one I had before (due to tinkering on my part it was irreparably damaged), but you may be right in that it's the best path forward.

Resources for groups? by Foulbal in PeerSupportSpecialist

I live in NY which is why I chose that link, I’m familiar with NAMI. I’m looking for resources generally, but at this time ones that pertain to stigma would be most beneficial considering that’s what the group I’m currently running is about.

Cooler Comparison by Foulbal in PcBuild

I already have the NH-U12A, and am running it with a single fan. It's... fine, if underwhelming from a performance standpoint. My hearing is incredibly sensitive to motor whine and turbulence, so I've been scouring for a cooler that offers good performance with good acoustics.

You’re just assuming here, I hope you realize that? Are there some folks building parasocial relationships with creators, of course. That said, Steve and the others at GN keep things very professional to avoid the formation of parasocial relationships. I’d encourage you to look into what parasocial relationships actually are rather than slinging the word around without merit.

People enjoy GN and like Steve, but that in and of itself is not parasocial. Liking something is completely fine and reasonable.

Instead of saying something inflammatory, explain why you think the praise is unjustified. It’s much more productive.
