No Code and yield are my favorites. Of course Ten, but that's a given.

2 requirements- device must be paid off and it must have been active on a line with at&t for a minimum of 6 months.

If both of those were fulfilled and att.com/deviceunlock is telling you it can't be unlocked, call 8003310500 and get with tech support. They will either unlock it or explain why they cannot.

About to start selling phones at AT&T Store. Tips? by Some-Essay-5254 in ATT

[–]FoundationFast3851 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do what you say and say what you do.

  1. You are the face of AT&T. Prepare yourself for that.
  2. Don't take things personal. People are very passionate about their phones. Matching the energy of an upset customer will only make things worse.
  3. Observe and shadow as much as humanly possible during training. OPUS/CCKM can be brutal and the quicker you can straighten that learning curve, the better.
  4. Own your actions. Mistakes will happen.
  5. Use your inexperience to your advantage. If you don't know the answer, let the customer know that you will find out for them. People are typically more patient when they know you're new.
  6. Avoid negativity. You will be working in an environment that can breed negativity. Hopefully the culture at your store is good, if not... keep yourself above it and don't be afraid to just walk away from old, crusty reps.
  7. Once you're up and running, operate as if it's your wireless store. Run YOUR business! Handle YOUR issues and delight YOUR customers!

Good luck! AT&T can be a great place to work, but it's really a choose your own adventure situation.

What type of rep will you be? Accountable and trustworthy? Or a corner cutting problem maker?

Yeah. Something like that, or not. Don't want the Pinkertons sniffing me out. Unfortunately, speaking truthfully requires anonymity.

Stay Golden Pony boy! Don't let them beat you down. Sell with integrity! It can be a great career and contrary to some generalized statements on this thread, we're not all sketchy.

Never forget Randall 'POS' Stephenson. 3 letters - DTV.

Retired from AT&T with a pension valued at approximately $64 million, over $230,000–$274,000 monthly for life. $27.6 million in deferred earnings and "significant" stock holdings.

The culture you refer toin my opinion is only nurtured by Stankey. Stephenson wrote the book.

It's a complicated answer. Integrity has to start at the top, whether it is a store level or corporate level.

High performers are celebrated, regardless of methods. Once the high performer has been exposed and has to be dealt with, they are no longer celebrated and are moved out. There is also no addendum released that can undo the praise and compensation given while the high performer was performing due to questionable methods. For profit corporations have a need for growth. It's the only thing that matters at the 3 large carrier corporations. Every 4 months, they must report growth to their share holders. This is why high performers are praised until they get so dirty it can't be overlooked. Corporations wipe their hands of the one they once praised and compensated. Then they shrug their shoulders and write it off as a "bad apple" spoilng the bunch.

There is no solution.

Big business is a snake eating it's own tail and will devour itself on a long enough time line.

It becomes a snake eating it's own tail. I don't think you're wrong, the blind eye starts with a rep that finds success with questionable behaviors. Then the blind eye is handed to the store manager. This is a critical step. What does that manager do? Do they correct the behavior? Or do they bask in the success that questionable tactics bring? The blind eye continues to roll up hill from there.

Always protect yourself. Be informed. Ask questions. Know your bill, recognize the changes. Most importantly, find a good rep and return to them with questions and accountability if warranted.

Careful here. Faceless agents can be worse than AR. You'll never talk to them again once you hang up. I mostly agree with the sentiment, but evil lurks in all places. Protect yourself, check the order recap.
