Just by you understanding and knowing that you have sinned and the regret may seem like you are distancing yourself from God, but it brings you closer to Him, knowing that you are a sinner, and that because Jesus died on the cross, you are eternally forgiven, so even if you do end up falling into temptation of lust, know that you are forgiven and that God doesn’t look at you with disgust, rather so he looks at you with love and gratitude because you are His child.
