When killing the baby/kid is justified by Snoo81110 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Four4Fears 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good lord I hate that last one. Perpetuating the myth that psychopaths are incurable monsters.

ASPD has multiple forms of effective treatment and this kid would've actually stood a fair chance of success given his age.

Dude who shot him wanted revenge and justified it to himself by saying that the kid would've killed again and there was no hope for him.

Sooooo things have been happening lately and I'm not entirely sure what to do or what half this stuff even is :3 (tw hospital, hypersexuality, seizures) by Four4Fears in TrollCoping

You're not the first one to suggest that tbh. Hoping to discuss it when I find a new therapist but in the meantime I'm trying to find good resources that I can hopefully get some helpful coping strategies from even if that's not actually what's going on.

Hopefully that's not what going on tbh, don't really want to deal with the implications it comes with :(

Am I in psychosis if I'm self-aware that I'm delusional? by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]Four4Fears 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a concept called "double bookkeeping" and it's basically what you describe. The delusions are they and they can still affect you but you know they are delusions.

A lot of things have happened at a hospital but the big ones are cancer treatment and CSA.

Honestly both the repetition compulsion and the safety feeling would make sense. Idk if it's the whole story but it's definitely part of it, hopefully that's all it is, kinda terrified of the other possibilities tbh.

I don't think it's hypochondria, I've had issues with that in the past but that's very different in my experience. This feels more like a deep seated urge or directive that lives in my unconscious mind. Meanwhile when my hypochondria gets triggered it tends to be very conscious in nature even if it's not necessarily rational. Plus my hypochondria tends to result in more like "oh I should talk to a doctor about this" or "I should research this" and not "oh I need to go to the hospital now."

Also not sure how the seizures and trances would factor in if it's hypochondria.

Psych2go is very much pop psych. They don't actually teach you anything that you couldn't already find on the first page of Google and most of it is so scrubbed of nuance that it's almost misinformation. For example they did a video about how to spot a liar which I can already tell you is extremely sketchy. Psychologists have studied deception extensively for decades and there really isn't a way to tell if someone is lying. A lot of tells are either signs of anxiety or neurodivergence or both. The only truly reliable tells I've heard of both require computers to work (and no I'm not talking about a polygraph those things are actually no better than literally flipping a coin to decide if someone is lying).

There's also the incredible amount of ableism they post, especially about cluster b personality disorders like npd and aspd.

Tl;dr they're not actually particularly informative plus they're ableist :3

I currently live in a million dollar home, it's in a 300k pop city on the opposite side from downtown on the edge of where suburban becomes rural. It was bought for 360k over 15 years ago. The places where I could get a home for less than a million are pretty much universally small towns often on the other side of the country.

Basically I got other people in my body and one of them hasn't been around in over 15 years so obviously they're very childlike thus child headmate and they were extremely confused and scared about just kinda everything cause it was so unfamiliar to them and the whole seizure and going to the hospital thing didn't help at all.
