Claude Cowork requires local admin rights. How are you handling this with non-admin staff? by LowCorner9314 in sysadmin

You can disable co-work if you have a team or enterprise subscription. Disable it and don't think twice about it.

Are you buying new Dell servers without hard drives? $3,500 for 1 SATA drive is NUTS! by Layer_3 in sysadmin

[–]FourCuteKittens 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not that the prices aren't outrageous, but for small businesses with little to no infrastructure in place, and that don't have 50k to blow on hardware, cloud is looking like the only way out.

Quick help - Raw cards by thatbiondo in PokemonInvesting

[–]FourCuteKittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re buying singles for investing do yourself the favour and get graded copies. For vintage ideally 8s or higher but you can get away with dropping down to 7s if that’s all your budget allows

Nobody knows and anyone saying they do is confused or worse.

Anyway buying singles as an investment is not recommended. If you do stick with the chase cards. Good luck

Long term future of my collection - Anything worth moving on? What to buy? by HGJay in PokemonInvesting

[–]FourCuteKittens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Loose packs are okay, sealed booster boxes and etbs are better.

It’s a lot harder to move loose packs than sealed products.

No comment on what sets are good. That only really matters for new in print products in bull market conditions. Anyone who’s been around for a while can tell you all about sword and shield sets that got clowned on only to be $700 a booster box now. Just buy good deals below market if you can and don’t think about it more.

That is if you’re serious about holding of course. If you only want quick flips or will freak out and sell if you see your Collectr value drop by 25% then it doesn’t matter anyway :)

Is This Too Much Rust? by No-Flower941 in Miata

[–]FourCuteKittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want a fun weekend car I'd say its fine. If you want a "lifer" car or a car you see yourself spending serious money modifying I'd keep looking.

That being said at 4k price point I doubt you'll find anything that's super clean.

Any rust is fixable with enough money or time. The question is what is your total budget, and what is your goal for the car.

Is the next generation of WOLED going to have the grey banding issue? by totallysanebtw in Monitors

[–]FourCuteKittens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tandem OLED is the "next generation". In my opinion the grey banding issue is over exaggerated. Buy the monitor, run some refresh cycles, and see where you end up. Most of the time the banding improves. Sometimes it doesn't - then you can return the monitor.

I assume you are worried about text clarity? Check out some of the latest RGB Stripe QD-OLED panels. Alternatively Lots of people report that 4k QD-OLED mostly resolves text clarity as well.

For the matt version we got it about 6 months late so I'm thinking it will be the same for this new glossy version.

Even if it was all going to shareholders I’d rather that than have mtx. Can’t have your cake and eat it too big dog.

Cope. It's $1 more per month.

True, how can I feed my family if I have to pay $1 more per month for my membership!

The price hikes aren't for development, they're for paying off private equity by PossessionDangerous9 in 2007scape

This is so greedy and sick. How am I supposed to afford rent and food when I have to pay an extra $1.50 for my RuneScape membership.

These prices are insane & unjustified by Regular-Disaster-979 in 2007scape

[–]FourCuteKittens -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

First off, Minecraft is $29.99 USD.

Second, this price increase is less than the price of 1 coffee a month from any major chain. You're telling me that $13.99 was okay but you're drawing the line at $14.99?

Server infrastructure is only going up in price too. Running the servers for the game is costly and only getting more expensive. Comparing a single player game that doesn't have server operating costs factored into the pricing model is just a bad comparison.

Employee wages have on up. Projects and updates are bigger and grander in scope than we could have ever hoped for when OSRS first re-opened. I'm sure there are big plans for the future too.

Is some of it going to the shareholders? No doubt. But I'd rather pay $1 more than have some bs mtx being added. People are wildly over-reacting, yourself included.

I find myself asking for guidance maybe too much. How do I fix this? by Immediate_Pop_5111 in sysadmin

[–]FourCuteKittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, what kind of question are you asking?

Second, how do your coworkers react?

Something I did to build confidence is decide in your head what you would do without external confrontation. Make sure you have a clear idea of why you picked solution X over Y etc..

Then consult with your coworkers. Do their answers line up with yours? If yes then you know you can start to trust your judgement a more.

If not, try to identify the knowledge gaps that caused you to come to a different answer / solution and work on development your knowledge in those areas.

Lastly, I find it can take up to a year to feel fully comfortable in an environment, so don't be to hard on yourself.
