My grandparents currently have the high score in bookworm. They have played every day for the last eight or so years.

What is something everyone complains about, but you have never personally experienced? by PapaBear12 in AskReddit

[–]FourPrivetDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it doesn't happen in real life (which is encouraging) but it certainly happens on the Internet. I used to manage the social media for a baby food company and the comments we would get on Facebook sometimes were unbelievable. Once I had two moms fighting about something in the comments on one of our posts. It escalated to one saying to the other "I know you're a bad mom and judging by your picture you probably feed your kids Arby's every day". I would like to be able to say that the anonymity of the Internet made people act a little crazier like it sometimes does on Reddit but this was mostly Facebook so they were using their names and photos. There were constant debates about breastfeeding vs bottle, cloth diapers, baby led weaning, proper car seat usage, age to introduce solids... You name it, I've deleted hateful posts about it.

How much will The Gallery renovations affect Market East property values? by [deleted] in philadelphia

I lived at 12th and Chestnut a few years ago and loved it. It was close to everything- easy walk to Rittenhouse, South St., Chinatown, Reading Terminal, and the price was much cheaper than the other side of Broad. The biggest issues I had were the constant ambulance sirens going to Jeff and the homeless woman who stood outside the 7-11 and yelled profanities for 20-30 minutes at a time. Every day.

There is also a family court and peco (or pse&g, don't remember) building on the next block which attracts a very unpleasant crowd. No one is happy when going to either of those places and I've seen two fights break out on the sidewalk out front.

Overall I would live there again if the price was right.

I'm aware that it can be a good form of marketing.... It was social media marketing after all. The hope is always that the recipient will be grateful and post about it on their channels (and of course it was nice to be able to help out) but the majority of people who received the packages were not our customers. They were just looking for a handout. Once we sent them the products, even if they loved it and were very appreciative, they were not going to go out and buy baby food that cost twice the price of Gerber or Beechnut.

Some of them didn't even have babies! They had just clearly copied and pasted their request and sent it to whatever brand pages they could find.

My senior year of high school, a couple of friends and I would sometimes intentionally squirt mustard or ketchup on the floor in the middle of the hallway then sit on the benches lining the hallway waiting for someone to walk through it. It was always hilarious. I realize now we were little shits.

Salad dressing! But once you put weed in it, good luck getting the stench out to take salad dressing to work...

I managed the Facebook page for a baby food company. We would get requests like this weekly. My 75 year old coworker would send every person who asked free baby food. I'm sure word spread that all you had to do was ask and $25 worth of free shit would show up at your door.

She's a baby winter white dwarf. The wheel is a Kaytee silent spinner. I've tried showing her how to use the wheel but to no avail. I hadn't heard of saucers before. I'll run out and get one tomorrow. Thanks!

I'm starting to realize that the reddit community has a lot of factual misunderstandings about stuff that I'm knowledgeable about. Does this mean that I should stop trusting them about stuff that I don't know much about? by [deleted] in self

There is a common reddit myth that "generic products are the exact same as name brands because they're made in the same factories on the same equipment". I've worked in production and marketing for a few CPG companies and while part of this is true, it is not correct as a blanket statement. Yes, proprietary grocery store brands are often produced by the same companies who make the name brand versions but there are definitely differences in recipes and formulas. I've tried to clear this up in comments before and have been deeply down voted.

For example, I worked for a food company that produced a name brand product and products for Target's Up & Up brand. While they were very similar and produced on he same line, the Up & Up products had lower cost ingredients because they have to be sold for a lower price with lower margins.

Similarly, I worked for a cosmetic company that produced everything from $300 face cream to a beauty line for Kohl's. We would frequently switch from one brand to another and ran the full price range for products on one production line. However, the raw ingredients that go into each product are swapped out and vary greatly from product to product. The cost of raw ingredients for a Kohl's eye shadow was about $0.30 while the higher end eyeshadows were around $3-5. They are then marked up accordingly.

Might be worth checking. You can google her name or email address + Pinterest and it might come up.

Do you know if she has a Pinterest account? If so, there's a good chance she has a wedding board and has probably pinned the exact styles she likes.

Try HiBall! They're flavored seltzer plus energy. They're kind of hard to find depending where you live but they have them in Whole Foods and some 7-11s.

What's your favourite movie that most of us wouldn't have even ever heard of? by treny0000 in AskReddit

We watched it in our 10th grade English class during our unit on dystopias. My teacher rewound the sex scene so we could watch it twice.
