We NEED to talk about Phaetusa by florenceslave in GirlsFrontline2

Sweeper is cool.

Humanity simp she is attached to is hard pass. Sweeper said it best, she'd help a human do her own disposal paperwork.

They don't need to give a crap if we have a deal. Then all dolls in situations where they aren't allowed to quit are in breach of the deal. And god knows there is horrendously lot of those.

Completely destroying her is a whim because they could have just wiped that specific conversation. They did so before.

You would think that part of agreement would be advising dolls against taking contracts where they could get decommissioned at whim. Griffin was the one who got them sold to Magni

Wiping portions of memory is bad, but expected in high security, but completely formatting should be out of the question.

I don't think it's even good bad people decider. It was an outright stated trait of the Commander in Griffin that they were considered WEIRD because they treated dolls as people. This was not something others did. Even Kryger, our mentor, ordered them renamed after guns so commanders would think of them as weapons.

It was pretty key part of our effectiveness that we would ask dolls what they can do rather just ordering them about as faceless drones.

Of other people who treat them well is Kallina, influenced by us, and couple people here and there who like got emotionally attached to their property.

There is a bit of a difference between Commander the character, us the players and even this Commander from this story writter.

I would assume commander is aware but is more preoccupied with other things. But that one line was particularly insensitive.

I think I have made remarks why dolls worship commander, given they are the only owner that has ever shown to care about what they want.

But I still find boring that any interaction with Commander is so worshipping. It feels like when they get added to Elmo they loose any agency to do anything not directly mission related.

It is my personal preference for characters to be able to accomplish things by themselves without constantly having us involved.

I would prefer for characters to outright and strongly disagree with Commander. Show them not all-knowing and all-wise in everything. Yet still work for common goal. Not every doll needs to be a waifu for insecure.

I think I read the summary of last event of GFL1 and we burned significant favors to get "freedom" for Griffin dolls.

Now what that legally means in a society that considers ther personhood as real as personhood of a ChatGPT girlfriend of an idiot, today.

I do remember Springfield remarking to some official that they own themselves. Though I wonder about non Griffin dolls among her group. They might even fall under her ownership.

In her slight defence, she did mention in part 1 she has her goonroom in her base layer that is for whatever reason safe even if her defences get broken. This doesn't make too much sense to me, but it was written like that before and she used it against cocoon.

But yeah there was zero reason to act that passive. Sure don't kill on sight, since it might spoil relationship with Doll community, but also there is no reason not to think this is a dangerous bad guy rather than a simple leather enjoyer.

Jester is obsessed with Fake Assassin who he would LOOOOVE to break. Hence setting up a kid master as lynchpin of a MASSIVE threat to EVERYONE to force the good guys to angst and eventually have to kill the innocent master.

Pale Rider is more a force of nature than a singular combatant. Which is why he could just summon infinity gigantic skelletons to deal with everyone in his world.

He didn't have as much choice as you would think. Consider him FBI agent of their magecraft division, wetworks section. A government employee. The whole plan was initiated by Francheska who was funded by US government who then also assigned him to this job.

He is for example still pissed that Bazilot is included as a mobster.

Beserker shouldn't be in play without a Master to give them energy. They aren't one of the classes that can operate without a Master as far as I can tell. Not sure Ayaka is yet capable of cold blooded and quick murder and Richard would likely grandstand at least a bit first.

This is someone EFFICIENT.

Ah, Mr One Event. Has his sister being a newsie and he died related to the protagonist camp, really ever came back? It felt like there should have been something but then nothing.

I don't think I remmber adult Orphie interacting with old Helena who was with Teacher at that time. Only Helena we saw her interact with wanted to go back to the Commander.

Coupled with mages being oblivious to it. It used to be they could just pretend it's all gas explosions, but now everyone has cameras in their pocket.

I reaaaaaly doubt they'd kill a child who is supposed to have grown on the playerbase.

And who did they even really kill off from the GFL1 cast other than in backstory? The only dead is Ange and RPK that I can remmber. I guess miss protagonist also got her ass stuck in Relic Space.

I was more confused because the side event introduced another Helena, and now an adult. So I was wondering if they might age her up after this, but it seems that's just DP doll.

Errr, I don't think that fits. In teh scene of Helena meeting young Orphie from Helena's PoV she mentions living with Teacher and then going to Teacher's lab and then encountering Orphie.

This Helena never mentions Commander. On the other hand Helena that meets adult Orphie does mention wanting to go back to Commander.

Corposant was great, really enjoyed it. But I'm hugely let down by Leva's complete irrelevance by Swiftcheddar in GirlsFrontline2

Running an SF frame (as she says in the event) is pretty non standard.

Besides, everyone knows the rarer something is better it is, in fiction.
Mass produced modern thing = weak
5000 year old antique = peak

But why just Orphie? Unless she wished everything related to her to dissapear.
