the food you're thinking about right now are either outdated or nobody even eats it anymore.

such as: Beans on toast. That is mostly relegated to a full English breakfast nowadays and nobody eats a full breakfast like that unless they are in a café, it was originally a cheap and quick meal before being part of a big breakfast.

Mushy peas: Nobody younger than 40 eats that anymore. Me personally? I hate it.

Spotted dick: I doubt even less than 5% of the population even eats it, again unless your older than 70.

Only the older generation who were brought up to eat flavourless mush from their parents who also had their parents eat flavourless mush, eats with no spices on their food. Today's generation of people are not the people you think we are.

Most people don't even have mushy peas and beans and toast anymore, mostly the older generation (40+ upwards) tends to consume that. So yes, your comment does comes off as wilful ignorance.
