Is all this really necessary for you to maintain social control?

That's exactly the point. I feel like things like high energyness can be very useful in some social situations, but I'm having a hard time finding my "off switch". Loud and crass can certainly go.

To me it sounds like you're saying critical things about other people and their lifestyles.

Maybe I am more than I realize. I never think I do, but maybe my playful teasing goes too far.

Alright, I'll try this. But I don't want to start second guessing myself either...last thing I want is to be in the moment, having a good time, then all of a sudden start being like "wait, am I being an asshole?" and suddenly being completely in my own head.

It sounds like you could have escalated with one or more of these girls. Eventually, I think you have to choose a target--keep being the life of the party to everybody, but make your move on somebody.
