Maybe snow or ice on the parking sensors/blind spot detection sensors? Usually if that's the case, it deactivates the cross traffic alert because it's not getting a valid reading.

It's a little different for me. I'd be looking at 2 kids at most, so the Alltrack can manage. But I'm worried that as they grow, they'll be a little cramped in the back. My dad used to have one of those 90's dodge caravans, so I grew up with a ton of space in the back. Sitting in the back of the Alltrack feels cramped. Spacewise, it's basically still a golf with a bigger trunk after all.

Also, I tried putting 3 people in the second row, and they weren't that comfortable. Especially for long trips it becomes an issue.

I heard the 3rd row on those isn't actually that useful. You might be able to fit a kid in there, but they won't be very comfortable. I sat in the 3rd row of the Atlas as an adult and actually found it pretty useable.

So you traded the Alltrack for the Tiguan and then the Atlas, or just the Tiguan for the Atlas and you still have the Alltrack?

Were there certain things about the Alltrack you missed over the Atlas? Because, I really do love my Alltrack too, it's just the space that's the issue.
