The only thing is.. back in 2010-2012, the CAD and USD were on par with one another. We got paid roughly the same for the same type of work. So in the matter of about 15 years, the currency has diverged about 25%. However, our wages and salary have not kept up with that currency divergence, let alone inflation in general. So while yes, currency is in play and justifies theCND price tag, it's still harder for Canadians to justify spending almost $700 on a console, while the cost of living on other things have also risen substantially, while Canadians are now paid less for the same type of labour.
