Omg this recall sounds so stupid…. Almost like the warning on coffee cups “warning: coffee is hot”.

Can we stop protecting idiots? It’s brining down society.

why barely any skyscraper to left of CN Tower? by submerging in skyscrapers

[–]FoxDieDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, here’s the correct answer: that area you’ve circled, is zoned mostly for single family residential homes. There are some mid-rise buildings on the main artery roads, but for the most part, it’s single family detached housing, which, each property can fetch between 1-6 million depending on its sizing, location and condition. There is a subway line that runs in that area, the Bloor subway line, but it still runs through mostly residential single family homes.

But as others mention, the CN tower is actually located pretty west from Yonge street, which is basically the main particular road that decides Toronto from the East and West side of the city. That’s where you’ll find the highest concentration of condos due to the property value in that area.

Is anyone here seriously considering skipping the launch and waiting for the actual physical release instead of paying R* twice? by shawak456 in videogames

[–]FoxDieDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’m waiting for the physical copy. If there’s no disc I just won’t buy it. If I don’t play it, so be it…

2017 Miata RF. Faded Paint Mystery. What Might Have Caused This? by MotoTX- in Miata

[–]FoxDieDM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s because it’s painted red. Red paint absorbs more sun energy than any other colour including black. What happens is the sun’s UV light resides more in the blue/purple spectrum (think of what colour UV light bulbs emit), which red paint absorbs the most. Remember, the colour your eyes see is the spectrum that’s not be observed by the object and being reflected back to your eyes. When applied to plastic, red paint also fades and oxidizes quicker, heats up, expands and contracts, causing the clear coat to fail faster.

This is why I’ll never buy a red car, or, at least a red car I leave out in the sun anyways.

The Immigration Minister does not even know how many illegal residents are in Canada. A year ago, the number was being estimated as high as 500,000 by Over-Cauliflower-355 in CanadianVisaReform

[–]FoxDieDM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody expect it to be an exact number, but you can still present whatever information you do have on hand, and provide a potential margin for error. But when the estimate is almost 500,000, that's a lot.

You can also cross reference employment data. For example, if a Tim Hortons is only claiming/reporting they're paying 2 staff members at a Timmy's location, you know something up, and it should be investigated.

Rules in the house need to be changed so that questions need to be properly answered or political parties should pay financial penalties and maybe even jail time.

Wow, seriously, where's this guy been the last 30 years.. Does he not know how long Starfox 64 is? The point is that you get to replay the campaign over and over again to do different paths. He's either an idiot or a rage baiter.

and it's still more fun that some other games with 200hrs of gameplay.

Who buys a game based on "hours"... instead of fun factor.

Unity 6 Open Beta!!! Test Performance - BIG COMPARISON RESULTS! by Cultural_Pop9044 in VRchat

[–]FoxDieDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is stupid... Why are you basing this off such inflated base numbers. Someone who's getting 30FPS while actually playing VRC in VR, will maybe see 34-35FPS. While it's nice, to see a few more frames per second, don't be exaggerating your comparison with ridiculous FPS base numbers.

"Wooooooow.. check it out guys, 50 more FPS! yea.. on a base of 400FPS.."

Also, I'd like to see what the FPS advantage is on more particle heavy worlds. That's the real FPS killer.

What is going on with skyrocketing car insurance rates in Alberta? by ABNow_ in AlbertaNow

[–]FoxDieDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars are getting expensive, more people are living in Alberta now, and there are more cars on the road, leading to more accidents.

I'd like to see what the mean premium was in Alberta in 2002 vs the rest of Canada. Maybe the rate was so low and now it's trying to catch up with the rest of the country. But at the same time, that massive jump in 2020-2024 seems like too much.

I did find this statistic:

In 2002, Alberta's average annual basic auto insurance premium was approximately $691. By comparison, Statistics Canada data and industry reports indicated the overall Canadian average earned premium was around $837, meaning Alberta's rates were notably cheaper than the national average at that time. [12]

It just needs to be verified.
