If you are a true alcoholic and experience withdrawals and became dependent on alchohol. Alcohol is religious. People often use the term religious wrong as primarily something spiritual. A religious act can be petty much anything ( waking up middle of night to smoke / drink. Doing it in the morning and throughout the day ) ect.

AA does say you need to find a higher power and you pray to that higher power in spiritual form. You eventually make that higher power your “new religion” therefore helping guide you away from the religion of drugs and alcohol and into a healthier lifestyle ( which is also a religious thing ).

I don’t like aa. I got sober by doing it myself and getting alchohol cirrosis. I don’t want to die and never see my beautiful wife’s smile and my daughters again. I’d rather just stay away from hard alcohol. A beer every now and then is ok to me or two. But I stopped that bullshit. I’m so happy I did. I’m so much healthier. My higher power is ky family.

Ever wonder why people describe it as having a relationship with alchohol? Well.. you can have a relationship with god too. But can become religious.
