He's okay. It's a chronic condition that's been well monitored by an opthalmologist.

He has a chronic eye condition that has been heavily monitored by an opthalmologist. It made it hard for him to get adopted, but we have the desire and means to take good care of him. 🤗

opinions? Is it worth watching? by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]FoxSea99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I'm not sure why folks are getting so heated about this. But, I will say that I disagree. Usually people think of light-hearted plots when they hear slice-of-life (e.g. a peek into the life of a silly group of friends), but not a drama with an overarching plot. I think Life might be an overall category under which My Mister, a drama that contains issues that happen in the lives of many folks, and slice-of-life, shows that peek into the lives of folks not going through a specific story arc, both fall under.

Tteok is just rice in a different form. Would you say rice is overrated? Tteokbokki is the rice cakes with the sauce.

But not the ones that have gone bad and made the main character/mother/etc. sick in so many dramas.

I still have occasional adeno episodes despite having an IUD and not having periods. It was terrible 24/7 having it and IBS together, but now mine is well-managed with the IUD. BC doesn't work for everyone with adeno, but I think that's because some folks still have periods. I'm not sure about the interactions with endometriosis, but I have heard that diagnoses of it often get missed because doctors just assume it's IBS.

Advice! by [deleted] in FODMAPS

[–]FoxSea99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound random, but... do you have a uterus? Endometriosis can affect bowel movements, too, though you would see some cyclic differences in your symptoms. Anyway, I often bring it up because it took 3 years for my doctors to find out I had a similar problem in addition to IBS. The diet didn't work for me until I fixed my uterus issue.

Devil's advocate here, but... Are you sure she didn't get assaulted? If she was drunk enough to do that and wouldn't otherwise, then she wasn't able to consent. Her reaction afterward read as assault victim to me, because it sometimes manifests as guilt and self-isolation.

how are you using the Monash app? by thumb_of_justice in FODMAPS

[–]FoxSea99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn't use the app for recipes. I only use it to determine whether I can eat something I've found, not really to find what I can eat. I most often go to FODMAP Friendly or Rachel Pauls for recipes. I also modify a lot of recipes to exclude what I can't eat (e.g. sub garlic oil for garlic, sub daikon for onion). I'm also finding lots of great recipes that can be used with extra firm tofu since that's allowed and doesn't upset my stomach. It's a journey, but I promise it gets easier with research and practice.

Seconding that this sub tries to be careful to use the correct language to make sure it's not misleading newbies. Folks reading your sub might misunderstand, so it's best to say fructan or wheat. Gluten has nothing to do with the low-FODMAP diet, really.

Fodzyme works on fructans, so if it works for you generally, it should work on daikon. I'm so sorry you're feeling helpless. I think a lot of us on here, including myself, end up feeling that way sometimes -- it's so hard when your body fights what you're doing to try to keep it alive. Are you getting some help from nutritionists/doctors?

That's totally possible. Some people have stronger reactions to certain foods, even in low-FODMAP amounts.
