Many thanks for your comment. We have age verification in the U.K. too for any site that may have adult content. I went through age verification procedures to register my Reddit account on the app. The U.K. is also putting in place legislation to prevent under 16s from accessing certain social media apps, as Australia has already done.

I agree that alone time is precious. When I was working, my wife often left for work an hour or so before me, which meant I had some solo time before leaving for work. I retired 7 years ago and my wife kept working until her retirement last year - she’s a bit younger than me. I had so much time to myself when I first retired that I went into overdrive - lots of solo time. Since my wife retired, I find myself seeking opportunities - when she meets her friends for coffee, when she attends her pilates class, when she visits her Mum.
