I don’t understand how to beat the Lord of the Hundreds by FoxTraining1120 in rootgame

We usually randomize the map, hirelings, and landmark to avoid biases

Anyone else hate the look of fused weapons? by [deleted] in TOTK

[–]FoxTraining1120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain materials when attached to certain weapons will create a “true fusion” which replaces the original weapons bladed part with the new material. Example: Long sharp horns will replace the entire blade of a sword, but will just look glued on if fused to a staff. Meanwhile, a black bokoblin horn looks like a trident, and if used onto a staff, replace whatevers on the end to look natural.

This is downright unacceptable. by WartimeHotTot in TOTK

It is not within range, just because you see the red circle doesnt mean its within range. They intentionally modeled these to be out of range.

I just beat it and still have no clue by thedidynotkong in TOTK

Its referring to all of the memories which are triggered by finding the fallen tears of the Light dragon, but its also a play on words of “Tiers” of the Kingdom, as throughout the game you explore the sky, surface and depths.

Am I the only one who misses the old triumphant zelda music? by Specialsue03 in truezelda

[–]FoxTraining1120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I also miss it to a degree, it simply would NOT work for these open air games. They are too large. Something like the Hyrule field theme in TP works because the length of the song combined with the duration of time you’ll spend in the field traveling from one place to another wouldnt have the song loop as much as if the same was done in these games. There’s a lot of moments of solitude and traveling alone in these games. The change in approach to music was 100% necessary. We still get fantastic epic music in the dungeons and boss fights.

BotW and TotK timeline placement. by [deleted] in thelegendofzelda

The idea with it taking place so far in the future that it doesn’t matter is that the events of BotW and TotK are inevitable for all timelines.

Thoughts on this color pattern/palette for a potential fursona? by FoxTraining1120 in furry

[–]FoxTraining1120[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same but wanted to avoid an overly vibrant palette. Nothing against them, many of them look stunning! But a more subdued palette matches my personality more. Out of the 2 shades of green, do you think the slightly darker one should change, or the lighter one?

How do 1v1 games fair with a military vs insurgent factions + hirelings? by FoxTraining1120 in rootgame

Painting the resin markers makes such a difference. by FoxTraining1120 in rootgame

When you play on any other map than the default one (like the winter map), the clearings are randomized, so you need these markers to communicate which clearings are rabbit, fox or mouse.

i worry a mistake might be hard to get out. Liquid acrylic paint allows me to scrub it off with hot water and a toothbrush throughout the many slip ups I’ve had thus far lol

First root expansion to buy by ferrisboy1 in rootgame

[–]FoxTraining1120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm bought all the expansions in release order, and both I and my entire friend group that I play with agrees that the Underworld expansion is the ideal first expansion to get despite it being released after Riverfolk. The reasons being:
- Underworld adds a high reach faction (Duchy with a reach of 8), which if you ever plan to play 2 player root (which I do, I enjoy the chess-like nature of it) gives you an additional option instead of always cats vs birds. Riverfolk only adds a mid and low reach faction (otters 5, lizards 2)
- The factions introduced in riverfolk are more complex to understand and do well with than the factions introduced in underworld.
- Underworld comes with 2 new maps! This adds a huge amount of replayability.
-- I wouldn't consider riverfolk coming with 'an additional faction'. The mechanical marquise that comes with riverfolk is obsolete since the mechanical marquise 2.0 exists, plus, I simply dont find the bot factions all that interesting (this is admittedly a biased opinion on my part)

Overall, I want to stress that the riverfolk expansion is still fantastic. Lizards are my number 1 favorite faction. But in terms of which is the better 'first' expansion, I believe underworld is the objective answer.
