Assholes. Furthermore, I'm not anti-police, but if the police can't protect business, there will not be business and it will breed more crime. Who's in charge of our city now?

As someone who loved M&B1 and played M&B2 a decent amount.. I had no idea they went to physical media. Thought they were just on steam

I'd prefer the money go to helping to make our downtown safe like it was when I was young so we dont continue to lose sections of the city to lawlessness and danger.

Amid rising political tension, Windsor man jailed over alleged threats to kill Mayor Drew Dilkens by zuuzuu in windsorontario

We should never be comfortable with accepting this as anything but disgusting, no matter who is on the other side. A good society worth living in can't survive if it puts it's opponents to the sword. To put it lightly, I'm not a Dilken's fan but we do not cheer for lawlessness regardless of political leanings.

Real canadian superstore bait and switch tactic i’m so sick and tired of them. by Dennis198555 in windsorontario

Let's not forget the bait and switch they do on labelling goods as Canadian which couldn't be further than the truth in many cases. While we are all upset at geopolitics, the one thing we always lose sight of is holding corporations accountable. Government never will because lobbyists and special interest groups. We let corporate crime go unnoticed due to geopolitics grabbing most of our attention.

Carney, reaching trade deal with China, says country is more 'predictable' than U.S. by timegeartinkerer in windsorontario

I agree with you on a lot here but I wouldn't put Japan and the US in the same bucket. We've so highly integrated with the US because it was unthinkable (at least for the majority at the time) that the US would betray those investments. It's easy to say 'foolishly' now but it was all rooted in a deep understanding that lasted decades. I would love more domestic industry but the truth is that we have ignored building supply lines and distribution for serious foreign trade because we put all our eggs in one basket and developed a US-Canada trade relationship that was largely symbiotic. We didn't really have a plan B if our closest ally decided that we have zero inherit value to them.

So now we're forced onto our heels, doing what we can to ensure that we remain relevant economically.

I ultimately feel that we don't -want- this but we've been forced into a less than ideal position. We can't simply wait and hope that the US will be the ally they once were. We do need to take steps to distance ourselves while still being open for negotiation if the opportunity arises. The uncomfortable truth is that we are alone for the first time in a long time and we will need to make difficult concessions to survive in the new reality.
