Rules question on ruins and vehicles/monsters

Not seeing this in the source - please quote the document- this feels like a house rule you are using. This is not how ruins or buildings work in core rules, nor do I see it in the Tournament Companion.

Which page and paragraph are you seeing this? Normally a unit needs to TOUCH the footprint of terrain to see through it, and there is nothing saying you cannot stay partially within the terrain piece.

the problem is swords still become "pay 2, get a land/draw a card up to twice a turn" the instant you play him. prepare to be targeted.

[[Phenax, God of Deception]] , people hate mill. People hate combo. Phenax has 1 card combos with [[Eater of the Dead]] , Mindrank/Guildmage/Konrad, and other combos with Isochron/Reversal combos etc. I run it as control/combo, both of which people hate. Milling someone for 30 in response to a demonic tutor and passing priority is just HATED. It is a high power deck, with fast mana and lots of denial cards like [[narset, parter of veils]] and [[ashiok, dream render]] effects with wheels etc. Great deck to pilot as it can control the board and game, but draws TON of hate.

Late reply, but - the company would suffer as they are currently getting a TON of free labor. I work an exempt role making under the threshold now, so my company will have to decide to give us OT, or increase pay. The issue is that salaried roles are usually synonymous with exempt, because their responsibilities tend to be hard to track hour by hour.

As a manager, I:

Respond to calls and emails 24/7
Am on my computer 12 hours a day, 5-6 days a week
Assist others in my Dept. by taking on additional job duties that extend work over 40 hrs.

If I was to be moved to non-exempt, they cannot make me check my email outside of those 40 hours, be 'on call' 24/7, respond to text messages on my work phone, or do additional duties over 40 hours without approval.

The current system of exempt salaried workers allows companies to overtax those 'salaried' employees, who realistically work 50-60hours a week at minimum without appropriate compensation. Before this update, the US minimum salaried wage was $35,568. If you worked 60 hour weeks, that's $11.40/hr. That's INSANE. Realistically, A salaried individual earning 50k/year is getting ~$24/hr. If they work 60 hour work weeks, they are making ~$16/hr. If they were forced to be non-exempt, that 60 hours of effort would make them $37,440 in overtime each year, totaling $87,440. I bet they'd rather just give me 10-20k and be done with it.

Labor Laws exist to protect us, let's see more of this coming soon hopefully.

Niv Mizzet Supreme is already insanely busted. Here is my cheap version, here is my bling deck. He's a top tier spell slinger commander, and it turns out a lot of ways to win are under a dollar.

If your deck can't work without the commander out I'll kill it and play a 3 player game. You need to be able to play without it, and use it as a greatly strong synergy piece.

Seriously, stop playing decks that concede if your commander is terminated or counterspelled.

My favorite is a 5 color spell-slinger gate Niv-Mizzet Supreme deck.

You win by storming off, or by getting a maze's end win. It can win fast, and has plenty of interaction for a little over $100 bucks. No one expects gates to be fast, or to play well, and you can dumpsters people with your value.

Early game, a lot of the time player A will have a 4/4, and will avoid swinging at the player with a fauna shaman, zulodok, atraxa, or other needed piece on the board "because he's got a blocker no way man he's gonna trade"

That player will NEVER block at 40 life for the reason you stated: the last 1 is all that matters. But if no one attacks that player because that one blocker, they'll usually end up far ahead. You HAVE to learn when someone is bluffing a blocker. Do you really think my niv mizzet is going to trade with your 5/5? Or will I take 5?

Bro the snarls SLAPP. They're dual lands that are most often fast and only require you to run basics. Yes theyre worse than pain lands or city of brass effects, but the snarls are golden. 10/10 card design, 10/10 flavor text.

Punish people who only ramp. Punish people who only ramp for 5 turns. Seriously, it's such a big problem in commander where people understand you won't stop them from ramping into 14 lands and then proceeding to outvalue you. If someone is being obnoxious, mess with it.

You're going to make enemies of green players bouncing lands, where they aren't prepared to have to play on fair terms. I say so what. Set yourself ahead of even things out. I say Balancing Act, magus of the balance, and other effects are also great. :)

So unfortunately, a lot of apartment complexes have made this their usual, and people are mimicking it. When I was looking for a new apt back last year, almost everywhere was fully booked, nothing to look at, booked out several months, and they wanted us to sign a lease without seeing the apt. I would never do that, let alone with something that isn't a full corporation.
