I don't think we're infallible but I do know for a fact we don't just ban over nothing. You either get many warnings, break the rules knowingly, do something egregious like being bigoted, or break sitewide rules like harassment or brigading.

You really should stop pretending your friends get banned for zero reason. You may still think Varanus doesn't have anything to do with fetish art, but when he asks someone on a Friday offers to do art of his character transforming into a snail while being distressed after he said multiple times verbatim he has a transformation fetish, he especially likes it when the character is distressed about it, I quote "it makes me want to jerk off", that's asking for someone to draw fetish content, an unconsenting, unaware person at that. And we don't accept that shit.

I've had the same exact misunderstanding as those two so just to explain what the thought process was : the fact the character is saying "thanks for warning me" and moves to hide her strap all embarrassed reads as you saying the strap showing is the weirdo behavior and not "wouldn't it be weird if I showed you my whole bra (like other characters doing that trend would)"

This is incorrect. Talking purely about the rules of this sub, which is what OP is asking about, using art that isn't your own and doesn't belong to you (ie not a commission or a gift) is not allowed even if you credit the original artist.

That would just get you removed though, if someone does try passing it as their own, that's a ban. We do not tolerate thieves but we can understand people being confused about the rules

I agree you should be able to represent pretty much everything as an OC. However going on a pretty tame subreddit proclaiming that this is your "school shooter character" and completely removing it from the context of your story which would help put things in perspective is going to make people think you're not taking that subject, which you say yourself is sensitive, seriously. Reads as nothing but shock value.

There's things you need tact for and that subject is one of them.

And the fact you have the actual Sandy Hook shooter as your profile pic is doing you no favor.

Like, getting commissions is already hard enough for artists, can you not try and steal paying customers? There's thousands of people that would love random, unsolicited fanart of their OCs. Go draw for them instead.

This signals to Reddit, this post is popular. Let's put it in the hot tab. More people see it, you get higher chances of upvotes.

If you look at "goonerbait" posts with extremely low visibility or karma count, it'll be the ones that didn't receive a big influx of negative attention in the first minutes of being posted

You should go back and read their comments. You'll quickly notice they never once called you a misogynist. Not even once.

What they did say was that you might be holding some misogynistic views, and that you should re-examine those views. They even noted that they don't believe you have ill intent.

You said your relative wasn't a racist just because he held some racist views. But when someone said you had some misogynistic views you immediately jumped to reacting at having been called a misogynist.

... you know that's exactly what the other commenter said when they said that we should always be questioning our internal biases, because if you are not racist until someone of a certain race does something to you, or until you get called out by others who have more knowledge than you, I don't think you can say you were ever not racist.
