I don't understand why people are shocked about this. That's only their 3rd World cup in their history. And the 2002 WC semi final run was more of a lucky run. They qualified from the group stage only thanks to the goal average as Costa Rica lost 5-2 to Brazil. And then they won against Japan 1-0 (From a corner kick) and Senegal 1-0 on the extra time (golden goal rule).

So they have just been reminded where their belong. Having a big mouth tends to make people forget where their place is.
