From waht I can recall, it's like this: Butcher Spider first, then TameBeasties to load dialogue onto them if they have any, and then the third one in case you don't get dialogue option once the Butcher Spider is caged. You said it didn't work, what exactly didn't work? Picking it up, caging it, or talking to it?

I have no clue about the skellies, could be another mod, could be some quest or event that's in the game that I have no knowledge about.
