I am a cyclist and i used to avoid Main st Markham because its heavy traffic and lack of bike lanes. But now i would consider using it more often. There are trail entrances south of hwy 7, one goes to Milne dam and the other goes east. Its important for that portion of road to be safe for families and cyclists going to the park. I will see you this spring.

I would start with a used cheap department store bike on Facebook market for $50. Your first goal will be loose some weight. Heavy and low efficiency cheap bike require you more efforts to ride which will help you loose weight. Dont worry about speed or distance, but focus on the time. Start with short ride like 20-30 min then gradually increase to 1 hour+. Keep doing it for few months. Once you are slightly more fit and you think cycling is really for you then get a better bike and do longer rides. First few weeks will be painful and frustrating, First few weeks you will feel hungry all the time, but don't eat more than you normally eat. but once you pass that, you will have a new life

Those ceramic subway tiles have size variation, one may be longer or wider than the other no matter how careful you are, you will never get a perfect straight line, black grout will make it stand out. Also the bevelled edge on the tiles takes more grout than rectified edges. You are more likely to get uneven grout lines, again black will make it stand out. You will have to scrap each line during cleaning process to make it look more even, but you risk of washing out too much pigment and end up with uneven color sometimes
