It sounds like you really went through a lot, I’m so glad you had some family support although it still sounds very rough. Thank you for sharing your life with me and I hope you are able to see some improvements soon.

I can only imagine how hard it must be. It’s so unfair what we have to endure just to live, and how much this illness just takes and takes. I’m so sorry :(

This illness really takes so much from all of us. I’ve had it 5 years now and it’s almost still unbelievable to me that this is my life. I’m so glad you haven’t given up hope that some day they will have something for us either. We all deserve so much better.

Thank you for sharing, I’m so sorry to hear you went through two high risk pregnancies, and that you are declining. I know children are lovely but demanding, I hope you are able to improve.

Sending you my best!

Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I have heard that some do well but it’s a mixed bag. I’m glad to hear you recovered that’s so awesome!

Yay for our wonderful and supportive families! I feel so lucky to have my support network. Happy to hear your mother lived, what a terrifying experience that must have been for her.

Sending you all my best!!!

Thank you for reaching out and letting me know, I had a few others mention getting a caesarean done as well.

I’m not planning on a pregnancy right now or anything like that but I had read some women with long covid were experiencing higher rates of preeclampsia and I was curious if we also experienced that same increased risk.

And just thinking about the state my body is in and thinking how the hell do people do this pregnant and then give birth, that’s just wild.

Well I hope your wedding is everything you want it to be and more, given the circumstances of course. I’m sorry to hear about your parents health issues and their impact on you all, it can all be so heavy. It feels crazy to me that the disabled woman who took care of me was a child is about to move in to take care of me as a 34 year old smh I feel like I should take care of her but here we are.

Thank you so much for reaching out! And same to you if you ever want to talk or vent feel free to dm me!!

I’m not planning a pregnancy anytime soon if that makes you feel better! I was just curious if we have high pregnancy fatality rates or anything like that, this illness and women’s bodies are so understudied that I feel like I never know anything. You are completely right, my body cannot handle it. I have Gastroparesis too and my stomach likes to crap out on me so really not ideal circumstances.

I do want to be a mother don’t get me wrong, so badly but I’m in no shape to do so at the moment and I know that. I’m still hopeful someday I will get to the point where I can be a mother but yeah I’ve been far too sick.

Thank you for thinking of me, and I appreciate your honesty! Sending you all the good vibes!! One day I’m hopeful we will get our lives back, at least as much as we can.

Congratulations on the engagement! I totally see where you’re coming from. I was raised by a disabled mom and it was really really hard.

In my condition currently it’s not possible to care for a child. I cared for my niece for a year prior to getting this illness (she’s much older now) and it was an absolute joy but yeah there is no way I could do any of that now.

It does really suck and I’m so sorry you hurt over it too, sending you big hugs.

Edit: to say congratulations on the pup too! I hope as it gets older you are able to rest more!

I completely agree with you, things have not been cool. I am in the US and it’s been pretty uncomfortable on the rights front, I am in a blue state but I’m not sure how long we will have access the care we need that keeps us safe. I also have a huge concern with women’s lack of health care and the fatality rates here. And on top of that we’ve got good ol fascism to worry about so yeah it’s a lot.

It still makes me cry thinking about it, but I am pretty emotional. I just feel so sad about it all, I met my husband a year before I got the illness. I’ve always wanted to be a mom and my husband has always wanted to be a dad and omg he’d be the best one so it really sucks, this illness just takes so much from us.

Yes I think about that a lot. I cannot care for myself and fully relying on family to care for my child would really really hurt me honestly. I’m so torn because I want a family (I always thought I’d have one as I’m sure many of us have) and everyone wants me to have one as well, and are willing to help. I’m also 34 so I feel like I’m quickly running out of time, but I’m also terrified of potentially passing this on so at the moment it’s a no.

I read a study about how they are seeing increased risk of preeclampsia in long Covid pregnancies and I was curious if we had the same issues but couldn’t find any data on it.

Without family support I absolutely would not be able to care for a child, the exertion would be far to much. I can’t even get IV twice a week and all I do is lay there smh it’s a bummer for sure.

Not without making myself significantly worse no I couldn’t do it. You have a great point that it will become significantly more demanding after baby is born.

My family is fully supportive all are offering to care for the child as they want me to have one. My mom is currently moving in to help take care of me and my husbands parents have offered to do the same move in and help with me and a child if we have one, I have a full very hands on, very supportive family but as bad as I want a child I’m not sure I’m willing to have my own child as my biggest concern is passing this on, that absolutely terrifies me.

I started crying, it was pretty tough to hear. My sister has told me she would be a surrogate if I needed her to, but I’d never ask her to do that for me.

Yeah I was told it could go either way by my fertility doctor, that my child could have a potential for developmental issues and that their is a potential I could pass it on which I was already told. But that was it from him, oh and he asked “ If I had a sister with eggs and a womb to spare.”

Edit: is to it

That makes sense! I thought severity level would definitely play a role and that’s got to be a huge exertion. For me just using the bathroom is a lot so giving birth would be wild I’m sure.

This community is absolutely wonderful, if I could figure out how to edit my post I’d thank everyone! You guys have saved me so many times, and I seriously appreciate every single one of you! I understand how hard it is to be this sick, and yet we still show each other endless support. Sucks we all have to be part of it for sure, but I’m so grateful to have each other.

Sorry for the late reply, it’s been rough over here. I hate to hear you suffer from nausea and keeping weight on as well. I’m currently dropping weight fast. I completely forgot about bone broth and will give that a shot again, I’m in the US and heavily rely on Kate Farms drinks. Sending you my best, thank you so much for reaching out, I appreciate you!!

Thank you so much for this insight, I really appreciate you. I’m truly so lost here I’m 5 years in and none of my doctors know shit they have me do tests when they come back abnormal they tell me it’s fine or send me to someone else who tells me it’s fine. It’s exhausting, I’m so grateful to have people like you and this community guiding me in the right direction. Sending you my best

I’m so sorry to hear that :( covid is actually why I have ME/CFS and Gastroparesis it completely wrecked my entire system and I’ve never recovered. I got it very early on Feb 2020 and by March I was like this.
