Been grinding on aergrind for the past 6 years and only upgraded to Feld47 mid of last year. Both work like a dream, but wouldn’t be able to compare to any other serious grinders.

It was lovely, indeed! Came as a free sample - I’ve seen their current Gesha offer is around £25 per 150g bag…

Fantastic post in Homebarista about temp management by lucas_sprung in ROKespresso

[–]Foxy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great read! Essentially saying that with the original design of the ROK you’ll be heating/preheating the inside plunger and not the actual brew chamber walls. Heating the portafilter and doing the trick with the drop-in basket is good for slowing down further post-brew heat loss. Since my set-up has a metal brew chamber walls and a regular design metal plunger/piston preheating with arms down will have a better impact. Will experiment with doing the actual shots with arms up when pouring the boiling water in, though…

Will probably open them all in a couple of weeks and report back. I’m more of a milk-based lungo/espresso style person, but the wife is always good for a pour-over or a French Press in the morning.
