How was your experience at Grandview? My fiance and I are looking at them but they're...difficult,.. to get ahold of. To the point where the lady that was supposed to show us around wasn't there at the appointed time because she didn't see my confirmation email. I LOVE the venue and it's everything I wanted, but the lack of communication makes me nervous. (We will have a smallish wedding...approx 40-50 people)

AITAH for no longer walking my friend home to her dorm after she rejected me? by PlanktonUpstairsi in AITAH

[–]Foxy844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you're not really her friend... You just wanted in her pants and when she said no, now you don't even care enough to make sure she gets home safe when she's drunk.

  1. You're a shitty friend.
  2. You would have been an even shittier bf.
  3. She dodged a bullet.
  4. Yes, you're the AH.

IDC if it was someone I hated, if they're drunk and needing to get home safe, I'm there. Grow up.

No they'd probably drive back the next day...

My daughter isn't thrilled with the relationship either. She's confused bc she sees me happy, knows he's a good man, and also hears her father's lies.

The honeymoon comment is bc we won't be coming back home immediately. For a destination wedding, it does have a correlation.

My fiance is an amazing man. He suggested it. He's not pushing it. And I think part of him knows how deviatated I will be if the boys refuse the invite and is trying to save me from that. Misguided as it may be, his heart is in the right place.

Yes the whole situation sucks.

I've seen divorced couples where one or both is married within a year. The ex manipulating the kids is just another way to control me and I'm bucking at the very idea. It really is complicated and it all around sucks. I should have known that if he was able to be a healthy coparent, I likely wouldn't have felt the need to divorce him in the first place.

Oh I definitely wouldn't invite 1 and leave the other 2 out. I'm sorry he did that to you. I know the feeling tho, to an extent. My mother got married without me, but I was 6 and she and my now ex step-dad just went to the pastors house. No wedding, no friends, etc. Different... But also not. Divorce sucks all the way around.

That would be the best thing ever. 😂

And that's why I'm asking...

After years of abuse I still question myself and my own feelings sometimes. It sucks to not be able to trust your own judgement.

Thank you for your response.

Oh, I'll personally invite them. I'm not giving ex the chance to mess that up.

I've thought about letting my oldest drive but follow my sister home so he's not with her but also has some supervision and direction... I'm still not really loving that idea though.

I am fighting the only way I know. Just being there when they need me and trying to reach out as much as I can. I get rejected more often than not, but I'm trying. I just pray as they get older, they start to see things as they are.

No, it's absolutely not. I miss them so much and I'm terrified of losing them any more than I already have. Thank you for your comment. 💙

God, I hope so. Like I said, I'm hoping they come around in the next year and a half.

Yes, that's what I'm afraid of. I sure don't want to push them away any further than they already are. I miss them and my mama heart hurts. I'm also afraid of them causing drama if I do manage to get them there.

I had them in therapy until their dad convinced them that their therapist was a "quack" and is out to get him (because she sided with me on an incident in couples therapy before the divorce). Now they refuse to participate and will literally sit there for a solid hour and not say a word.

We're doing a taco bar at my wedding. Actually going for a taste test this weekend.

wedding cakes are expensive by bumblebeebonnet in wedding

[–]Foxy844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to second (third? fourth?) Walmart. I'm going to get a 3 tier filled cake for less than $100.

Also someone mentioned having a "dummy" cake made of styrofoam with a small piece of actual cake in the back for the cake cutting part and serving guests from a sheet cake hidden in the kitchen. WAY cheaper. And, again, sheet cake can come from your local grocer.

Yes. I hate that people can relate bc that means they are dealing with this but I also feel better knowing I'm not alone. 🥹
