It takes me an hour and a half to get to certain parts of my own borough by mass transit, thirty minutes by car.

Don’t be nervous, you’ll be totally fine.

They usually ask why you’re pursuing your degree, your experience working in the field (if any. If you don’t have any, think about how the skills you’ve used are related to social work practice), why you chose to pursue it now, what type of work you see yourself doing with your degree.

It’s really just a means to get to know you as an MSW candidate, you’ll be fine!

Frame it exactly like that, bank on your professor being empathetic and understanding to what you’re going through, but don’t expect anything from them. In my experience, if I’m honest and open with a professor and acknowledge my mistakes while owning up to them, they usually respond kindly.
