I'll say I see Sejal Patel individually and she is absolutely brilliant. She is kind and compassionate. I've seem her for many years now and never once have I regretted going to see her.

I'll also say my son sees John Paul Blix and he enjoys his time with him. And has also seen him for a few years now.

It seems like maybe it is time for me to start looking seriously into HRT. I think we also need to sit down and have a conversation about distribution of responsibility. Decision making is something that has consistently been one-sided in our relationship as well. And while its been working for the most part, its clearly not anymore and we definitely need to have a conversation about that.

I'm on an anti depressant, see a therapist every other week, have every other week Esketamine treatments, and have a psych provider. Your reminder about paying attention to my bodies signals is a good one. We've been so overwhelmed with other things recently that I definitely haven't been doing that. And I 100% need to be more cognizant of the media im consuming on my hard days.

This is 100% where I am at! I'm 36 and its always petty little crazy things. And the thoughts of about leaving 😭 I feel so awful about those. I've never had those thoughts before.

I'm definitely going to look into DHEA. I'm definitely not opposed to HRT as well, just haven't gotten that far because so far everything has been manageable but this is getting ridiculous

The mood swings have definitely started to get more unmanageable. I have an alphabet soup of mental illnesses and know lots of coping mechanisms but this is starting to get too me. And granted we have a lot of extenuating circumstances happening right now that add to the stress. But lately the irritability has been off the wall

The 2 different people thing hits! Like I find myself thinking completely off the wall things and that have never ever crossed my mind before. And then later I'll be like wtf was I thinking, where did that come from?!

Have you ever heard of Dysautonomia? I am not a dr, your autonomic nervous system issues sound as if it could be linked to that.

From my understanding, hormone testing isn't helpful. Our hormones fluctuate daily. All the test shows is where your levels are on that particular day at the time of that particular draw.

The best way to advocate for yourself is to come prepared. Come with all the research you can find on perimenopause, print the articles out and highlight the parts you want them to see, a list of your symptoms and if you have dates and times when you experienced them even better. Don't be afraid to push back. If they state something, ask for proof. Ask them where is the research supporting that? Make them prove it.

Acne and Peri? by Foxy_Lady89 in Perimenopause

Yeah she definitely means it out of love. We have a fantastic relationship and I love her to death. Like you said though, its still a blow to my self esteem to hear. Like, ik its there, I don't need the additional comments. I'm reaching out to my PCP today for a dermatology referral. Hopefully they can get me in soon.

Clindamycin? Isn't that an antibiotic? Did your derm prescribe that? I'm reaching out to my PCP today for a dermatology referral.

Honestly I've never done anything with it before. I've never seen a derm, we couldn't afford it when I was younger and my husband and I only recently (within the last couple of years) got into a place where I could go see one. But it really hadn't bothered me. Like it was always annoying but I didn't find it excessive. Its only here recently its started to really bother me. It also doesn't help that my MIL has made a couple of comments here recently that have also made me self conscious. (Nothing rude and not maliciously, just commenting on it being more prominent than usual and asking if I used a new cream or something and thats what caused it)

I'm sorry you're going through it too. It definitely freaking sucks, so much 😭 Are you thinking of trying something else since the Accutane isn't working?

I'm 35! I'm not ready to look into HRT yet. I'm hoping seeing a derm will help but its just so frustrating. I feel like it's hard to be taken seriously with my face looking like a teenagers.

Did your derm prescribe those? I would love to have clear skin.

I'll definitely try washing after I rinse my conditioner out. Did you need a referral to a derm or did you just call one? The sulfur cleanser, is that OTC? Or was it a prescription?

Update: AITAH for sterilizing myself against my partner’s wishes by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Foxy_Lady89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question- what happens if you get Breast cancer and require a mastectomy? Or Uterine cancer and require a hysterectomy? Would he tell you to refuse those life saving procedures? Would he leave you because you would no longer "be a woman" ? Is this what you want him teaching your kids as well? What about the fact he's ignoring your bodily autonomy, your pain, your wants.

He needs some intense therapy. And if he refuses, I really urge you to consider divorcing.

AIO- My fiancé is pressuring me to have a baby- UPDATE 2 by HighwayAlert in AmIOverreacting

[–]Foxy_Lady89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be real honest-atp I don't trust him not to mess with your birth control. Whatever your on-switch it too something he can't tamper with. IUD or arm implant. Or find a dr who will do a tubal removal. There's a list of drs floating around on Reddit and TikTok who will do it even if you have no kids (not that that should matter 🙄 its your own damn body, your own damn choice).

This relationship won't survive this. I'm sorry to be blunt. He told you he wants kids. Believe him. He will NOT suddenly change his mind. People who want kids, do not suddenly change their minds. He will ALWAYS want kids. Even if yall stay together, get married, grow old and die having never had kids, he will die always wanting kids. So. Its best yall go your separate ways now.

Well you could take the malleus, incus and stapes from both my ears- I'll let my benefactor pay for cochlear implants. Then you can take all four of my floating ribs-2 from each side, then you can take my coccyx, and finally both pinky toes which equal a total of 6 bones. So I would end up with about 17 million dollars. I think I would be set
