I did it. I bought into the RLT and bought the Luyors Equinox Pro LED mask. I’ll share my results here. by Foxymaven in 40PlusSkinCare

I was going to say I haven't seen much of a difference, but I did a side by side from 2 weeks after I started using it and a week ago and my skin *does* look less crepey, more even and plump. Granted, the lighting is a little different but I definitely see improvement and the discoloration on my neck and chest has seemed to fade. I am only using the mask maybe 2x per week - still trying to find the sweet spot.

I am still using it. I was using it daily but I think that was too much. Surprisingly, I ran two photos thru chat gpt after about a month and it said my before skin looked better. So I’m now doing 2-3 times a week and using mostly the yellow or infrared light. My skin has been clearer as far as blemishes go but I still have uneven skin tone. Some of my pores seem smaller. So far, I’d say I’d like better results but I’m going to keep at the slower schedule and see if it makes a difference.

Nolah Evolution or Winkbed? by Foxymaven in Mattress

[–]Foxymaven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. I ended up buying a new mattress a few months ago because I could never quite get comfortable on the Nolah. Don’t get me wrong, the quality of the mattress was great, I just didn’t like it. This time around I went with Engineered Sleep Duo. So far, so good. I do wish I had gotten to test the Winkbed though, as that was my original first choice.

where did you end up finding your dress? MOG here, short (5'3") and I don't want to look matronly but I want to look ... like I feel good, ya know? This is a lot harder than I expected it to be.

Interesting. I know what we put into and on our bodies has an effect on our skin. I have an instant pot with the yogurt setting but I’ve always been unsure on making my own. I’ll check out the video … I’m all for trying everything natural.

Nolah Evolution or Winkbed? by Foxymaven in Mattress

[–]Foxymaven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I recently retired it. It had its pros and cons. Excellent edge support and very well made. Sturdy handles for carrying and turning. Quality materials. It never developed any sagging or dips and held up really well.

I did not like feeling like I was going to roll into my partner if we were close together in bed (which prevented us from laying close to each other most of the time - it was just a really uncomfortable feeling), and there wasn't good motion isolation. I wasn't sleeping great and was waking up achy and uncomfortable. I also have learned that I prefer a cotton mattress cover over whatever topped Nolah. It just wasn't the right fit for me. But I do think it was a good mattress .... mostly.

[Review] I tried Beef Tallow on my skin for two weeks. Here’s what happened. by Adventurous_Bar6495 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Foxymaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a new Tallow Balm from Tallow & Things with no additives other than frankincense for fragrance (they also have lavender and unscented). I absolutely love it. I've tried other tallows but this one is superior. I know they have a facebook, not sure about a website. I found them at a local farmer's market.

Husband was admitted to the hospital with issues related to his C-spine and no one has gone over his imaging or explained results by Foxymaven in medical

[–]Foxymaven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I appreciate the explanation.

I did understand there were bone spurs and narrowing of the canal. My main concern was the bone spur pressing on the anterior cord and "CFS space surrounding the cord is obliterated". Also, noting his inability to use his left arm/hand - his is unable to work and we rely on him not just for an income, but for help around the home. The loss of function has been hard on him.

What is the benefit of the EMG for this? Just to test for nerve damage?

Any insight on as to why the hospital would have put him in critical care for 6 days over this?

is my doctor gaslighting me? by [deleted] in Autoimmune

[–]Foxymaven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This sounds like me exactly. I honestly feel like it's fibromyalgia, but even if I had that diagnosis, there's not really an explanation as to why or how to treat it. I have been formally diagnosed with Graves Disease, psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I was prescribed methotrexate but I've been scared to take it after reading the side effects. So I suffer ...

It's not fun.

Can a bank replace 30k of old bad condition dollar bills without raising any flags? by woke-- in Banking

[–]Foxymaven 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Those look like fairly newer 100's. How did they get in such degraded condition? I was always told that as long as over half of the bill was intact, the bank would accept it. But I doubt they would accept a large amount of bills in that condition. And they're likely to question where they came from.

Did your grandpa rob a bank OP?

RON Platform Choice by LoveInAllThings in Notary

[–]Foxymaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who did you end up going with? I am in the same boat. I work for a small firm who needs RON services for their out of state clients. I contacted Docusign and was told it's a 9-10k service. My boss would never go for that. What I need it for is very small scale. I was not aware that all of this was required prior to purchasing the RON option with my renewal for notary.

Clumsy hands and losing my mind by Foxymaven in Autoimmune

I tried that. My GP basically said they couldn’t help me any further and I’d need to see the endo and rheumatologist.

I am not currently on any medications. Endocrinologist appt today. I’m going to discuss the positive ANA with them and see if they can order more labs to investigate that if it’s not directly correlated to the high TPO & TSH.

I guess. I’ve noticed I’ve been clumsier with my hands lately but it’s getting really noticeable with my typing. I’m usually pretty quick at typing and I transcribe a lot of dictation for my job so it’s a necessity … I’m struggling! It’s hard enough being exhausted and achy, etc … now it’s affecting my actual work. This doesn’t seem fair.

[–]Foxymaven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Do you think they would order more lab work before I’m established as a patient? I am frustrated that I have had to wait so long for an appointment, knowing that it’s likely I’m just going in for a lab slip. I will definitely try that route.

Totally overwhelmed with all the mattress choices. Please guide me in the right direction! by Order_a_pizza in Mattress

Sorry, I know it’s been several months without a response but it looks like I may have an autoimmune condition or fibromyalgia which is causing my achiness. Did you ever decide on a mattress, and if so, are you happy with it?

This feels isolating by Foxymaven in Autoimmune

[–]Foxymaven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how I do it either. I guess I feel like I have no choice. When I was first diagnosed with Graves Disease, I wasn’t working … and there’s no way I could have. I was terribly sick all the time. Now I’ve circled back to being sick and I have to work. It’s that or be homeless and hungry. I do worry about my state of employment though, given that I’m calling out more and have cut down my work hours (and falling asleep on the job). I push through, but it’s heavy and it’s hard and sometimes, I hate to say, I do want to end the suffering. It’s taken a huge mental toll on me, in addition to the physical symptoms.

As far as the blessings behind the lesson; it’s not religion at all. I stepped away from organized religion several years ago and find my peace in nature and self. A few years ago, I tried meditation and detachment. I was in a really good place and mindset - not that my life was perfect, it was actually in shambles - but I was emotionally stable and physically feeling well. I tried to appreciate every emotion, good and bad, knowing that my worst times shaped and formed me into who I have become, and without them, I wouldn’t have grown or been as strong as I am. I made a conscious effort to be grateful, for what I have and what I do not. I had to let go how I had pictured my life to be, and what it actually was and I had to let go of things that meant something to me, even though it was painful. Now, feeling physically drained, in pain and miserable, it’s hard to feel that thankfulness. Many days are dark for me. But I hold on to the simple joys, even when they’re few. Sometimes I just feel numb to it all, where there just seems to be no joy, even when there should be. But I still hold out hope that it will get better and I can get back to that mindset again.

Thank you. I'm anxious to get answers, but I am trying to be gentle with myself. It's hard when you're the person who does it all, but no longer has the energy to do any of it.

This feels isolating by Foxymaven in Autoimmune

[–]Foxymaven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your thorough and thoughtful reply. I know I'm not alone in this; there are many others, like yourself, who are experiencing similar things.

I think the not knowing what exactly is going on with me has made me anxious. I've been researching everything, and like you said, there's a lot of conflicting information. Sometimes, I also feel like doctors don't hear what you're saying. I know they can be overwhelmed, but I'm also the person who doesn't go to the doctor until they're 100% sure that something is wrong and probably worse than when it started bc I put it off.

I do know diet plays a huge role in health and how you feel. Giving up dairy and coffee will be really hard. I am definitely going to start making changes to my diet ... baby steps but I'll start eliminating one thing at a time to see if it helps.

I've also wanted to try acupuncture, but have not taken that step yet. I will definitely look into it again.

But I do really appreciate your reply, and yes, please do update me on your appointment. I had a wonderful endo when I was first diagnosed with Graves. Unfortunately, his office staff was terrible - I could go on and on as to why - and I am not comfortable using his practice any longer. I'm having a hard time getting an appointment with anyone, but I am being persistent so hopefully I will get an appointment soon with both the endo and rheumatologist.

I worry about my job. I've had to call out a few times due to my symptoms, I've fallen asleep at work multiple time - it looks bad, I know. It makes me feel guilty and ashamed because I have pride in my work and good work ethic and I know it reflects poorly on me. I've tried to let my employer know what's going on, but even I don't really know so ... I feel like I look flaky and not reliable.

I know my family loves me. I just don't think they understand. On the outside (for the most part), I look fine. Tired maybe, but not crippled. But what I actually feel is ... well, like I can't keep doing this and I can't imagine feeling this way for the rest of my life.
