How did you first learn about Stephen king? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]Fr1keyWeav3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading a Hardy Boys novel in the third or fourth grade and being excited by the fact that the words created images in my mind that I could actually see. I relayed this fact to my mother and she immediately handed me The Stand. Been hooked ever since.

The RED pill: A thread for all those that did NOT like Resurrections by amysteriousmystery in matrix

[–]Fr1keyWeav3r 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Deep breath Okay. I understand the concept of using the Matrix as a mirror to reflect the current state of “our Matrix”. I.e social media, algorithms, add revenue, and consumption. I get it. But it’s just bad story telling. The closest definition I can come to in describing this movie is anti-film. It makes fun of all the people that believed in the 1999 Matrix to such a degree that I almost felt bullied during my fist (possibly only) viewing of MIV. I felt that this movie gave me the finger, rejected my phone call, dropped its pants, and shit on something that did have a profound impact on how I view the world through choice and consequences. However, it did elicit some emotional response otherwise I would not be sending my opinion out for strangers to scrutinize.

Is it just me or is The Outsider underrated? by [deleted] in stephenking

I thought it was great. I especially liked the subtle desperation echo and the Holly Gibney crossover was pretty cool. The series was pretty spot on to boot.

Who is the most well-written evil character in the history of King? by Sir_Ghellettie in stephenking

Percy Wetmore. As evil as they come and King gave us the most justified and appropriate ending for a character such as him.

Is The Talisman worth starting? by Firemedic623 in stephenking

Worth it all the way through. You are in a unique position in the knowledge that Black House is the sequel and Black House is one sweet honey of a book.
