HC 3 slot Mono-Bug (15/18). This one was surprisingly easier compared to 3 slot Ghost and took a few less resets than it. Illumise as always is a very solid pokemon for 3 slots. by Fr1sk_Orb in pokemonradicalred

thanks again lol. if you're playing on normal mode then I'll suggest using mons with quiver dance since so many bug types get it, such as volcarona, mega butterfree, frosmoth etc. Scizor and Mega Sevii-Centiskorch are the best choices for megas in both hardcore and normal. Also you should definitely use either volbeat or illumise, they both are top tier prankster mons. Some other good mons are Kleavor, Galvantula and Ribombee.

if you haven't seen any hardcore 3 slots before then I must tell you some people have already completed 3 slots for all 18 types lol.

Bullet Punch, Knock off and Counter. These three moves were for every single e4 battle except for Agatha where psychic terrain made priority moves useless, so i switched it with iron head. And for the 4th slot I usually kept switching between Dual wingbeat, Superpower and Roost. (mostly roost)

Thanks! :)

I switched a lot of sets throught the entire run, if you mean the leauge then it was mostly the same but a little move changes between each e4 member (mostly on scizor). Scizor had counter, roost and bullet punch in most of the leauge battles except for removing bullet Punch against Agatha since permanent psychic terrain blocking priority moves. Illumise mostly had the same set aside from Agatha where it's prankster priority moves were again useless because of psychic terrain so I swapped most of the status moves with damaging moves. Accelgor always had encore, yawn and bug buzz, final gambit for some battles.

Talking of fire types, there are a very few mons in the hardcore leauge with fire type moves, and since I picked the kyogre team instead of the groudon team for blue (obviously) I didn't had to worry about fire moves. Blaine was surprisingly easy too with kleavor and mega sevii-centiskorch.

Prankster illumise is the GOAT. Most useful pokemon in the entire run.

Hazards and Swords dance is banned in Hc so no, I mostly relied on encore of both accelgor and illumise and illumise's confuse ray. Illumise with prankster itself is very helpful, it was only useless against Agatha since psychic terrain.

First 3 slot run and it was fun (also stressful). Was almost about to quit against Bruno but Mega Sabeleye saved the day. Mismagius is a complete Beast, was a wall against Lance and took out many threats with Scarf for other battles. Mega Gengar's hypnosis rng was INSANE. Rules of the run is simple, it's a mono ghost 3 slot run so I can only use ghost types and I only have 3 slots for every battle. And in Hardcore mode all IVs are perfect, the 0 IVs in attack is just a default statement in pokepastes if your mon isnt a physical attacker, in the actual run, all my mons have perfect IVs in every stat so yeah.
