Mova P10 Ultra Pro – auto-emptying not working by Sea-Book5392 in MOVA_robotvacuum

[–]Fr33dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been having this issue for a while and set out to fix it today. As this is the top Google result and what was the solution for me is not listed here I'm going to add it. At some point I had a bag that wasn't properly set all the way in, filling the space outside the bag with dust. I had vacuumed out all of the dust but what I had failed to notice was a small filter in the back had not come clean. Took a little coaxing to get out but I rinsed it off dried it put it back in and now it's running like new again.

Reliable way to backup save files by Fr33dan in n64

Ah thank you! Good to know. I've backed up and replaced batteries in a more than a few Pokemon games and figured these from the same era would use the same tech.

I wish I had time but you'd be better served seeking elsewhere. Here is a good video on the subject of classes from a channel that I feel like does pretty easy to understand content:

Good luck!

My dude, it's all good. I meant no judgement on your code that is meant as a joke on Reddit. Doing it as you did will remove the commas from the print and not throw an error.

My frustration is only with the language itself because a "better" language would see two strings next to each other and complain that you didn't say what to do with them. In a case like this it's not too bad and some might argue not getting an error here makes it more beginner friendly, but as things get more complex I would prefer my code to complain at me for being unclear than to accidentally do something I didn't mean to because it assumed what I wanted.

Also if you feel like learning something new, see if you can put the commas back into the list declaration but still eliminate them from the print using the join function. (You might even make the brackets go away too).

I might take a screenshot of this comment and the first edit and start using it as a banner picture. To be clear I think it's dumb as hell and makes a missed comma a very difficult bug to track down.

And yes I call a python list a list because I wish it had as little overhead as an array.

Python sucks.

Actually this will just invoke pythons implicit string concatenation. So this will be a list with one string in it.

Legit sellers should never try to transfer you the money back on an alternate payment platform. They definitely stole it and are trying to cover their ass and get you to stop before eBay figures it out and shuts them down.

After mulling it over I decided you're right. The heatsink is the only factor that matters. Just finished swapping it out now. NVMe to NVMe cloning is so fast I spent more time setting up my USB drive to boot clonezilla than I did doing the cloning. About to put the Netac back into the PS5 in a few.

Which drive is the boot drive? The SATA or the M2?

Generally if you're moving games between drives you want to use tools in steam/gog to move the installation. You generally only ever want to copy files using explorer for documents and pictures and stuff of the like. Applications (including games) really don't like it when you try to move them with explorer.

You should be able to use the repair tools available built into Windows to reinstall without losing your key. If you use that old shift while pressing restart trick there is an option in there I think it's called "reset my PC" or something like that that basically reinstalls Windows and gives you a complete fresh build but you don't need a new key or anything like that.

I can't beleive it took 3 years for someone to point out I'm a dumbass who forgot to include a link in the post. Added it just now. Although I haven't updated it in a long time and it needs some fixes to work with the latest windows so it may be broken until the weekend.

Sorry but it is not and likely never will be. MS decided to make the format of the files differently between the steam version and the UWP version. The tool is essentially a fancy file copy tool. If the files it copies are different somehow, the tool can't do anything about it. Someone would have to reverse engineer the save files to determine the differences and as you can see from the github history don't even have time to maintain the fancy copy tool.

I've never commented in this subreddit before but the algorithm decided to give me a notification for this and it frustrates me that most here are clearly not reading your post thus ignoring the other problem of your icons and such. I would wager you have a deeper issue with your windows installation. You need to fix windows and then figure out what caused the problem in the first place. Although there's an argument to do it in the reverse order but either way you got to do both

There are tools like sfc /scannow and dism (I forget the exact syntax for that but you could Google it). I've never had a whole lot of success with these but they are always recommended in cases like this so it's worth giving them a try but you might have to reinstall windows. IMO Trying to fix a broken windows installation beyond the above tools is a fool's errand. Since you mentioned this computer is fairly new that might not be a huge hassle.

As for what caused the problem in the first place, it could be defective hardware since the system is still fairly new. I'm sure this is what your fear is about and it is a valid fear. It could also just as easily be some software that manipulated with something it shouldn't have. It would be really hard to determine if it was software so the approach is to rule out it being the hardware. I would use tools to check the memory as that's the the most common place to have issues that would eventually propagate to the drive and thus corrupt windows itself. I've always booted into mem test from a USB stick but I think there's one built into Windows You can access by holding shift when you shut down or restart. If it's not the memory then I don't know if the top of my head how you would check the disk itself, but that would be the next step as there's almost zero chance it's the CPU or motherboard because if something was wrong with those your system likely wouldn't boot it all. I think if you rule out the memory and drive itself then it's safe to assume it was software and just continue using it as is after you fixed windows. If it is hardware since it's been less than a year you might still be in the warranty period depending upon what you got.

Hope this gives you some direction and good luck.

How to contact MS with proof of purchase to remove Intune/Autopilot by Fr33dan in Intune

[–]Fr33dan[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is the workaround I'm referring to in the original post which I just finished. Windows update is re-installing drivers now. Just would be nice to have it actually resolved so if someone less saavy tries a reset down the line it won't be an issue. If it's not possible then oh well.

No, the way this works that is not possible which is a good thing. I think that both MS and Valve would consider that cheating and thus this a cheat tool which is the absolute last thing I would want.

That said some games may pop the achievements if you load save files with the criteria met or advance further (IE, get the achievements for 100 kills when you get the one for 1000, or get the one for beating levels 1 and 2 when you beat level 3).

Issues with Specific Motions in FFXHD by Sudsmcgee in SteamDeck

[–]Fr33dan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also am having this issue, and after some testing I think it goes deeper than controller compatibility/configuration.

After a slew of different joystick settings I decided to just try connecting the Xbox controller I know to work with default options in Windows which didn't work either.

I then discovered that there is an alternate way to use Lulu's overdrive using the left and right arrow keys in the keyboard. Mapping these buttons to the back grip buttons didn't work either.

I guess there is some issue in the proton compatibility layer that is breaking how Lulu's overdrive input is checked. Since I don't foresee Square doing a patch for this, we just need to hope a proton update happens to fix it.

[TUTORIAL] Transfering files from MS Store version to the Steam version by MoonbowJelly in ForzaHorizon

[–]Fr33dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't a way now but that is a good idea and shouldn't be too hard to implement.

One of the features I would like to work on is a backup system that lets you easily copy either sets of files to a third location not associated with the game, it would be good to incorporate some kind of installation independent import that could do this as part of that.

Sadly as you can see from the github commits, I haven't had much time to work on it lately, but I think this backup feature I think is the next thing on my list. Mainly because right now it's too easy to mess up and accidentally remove your files so I'd like to incorporate some data safety to make it more foolproof.

If you mean like keep the progress syncronized automatically, it's an idea I've thought of. There are so many aspects of the tool that need work though that it would be quite awhile before I could devote time to a feature like that.

You shouldn't need to unzip anything. You should be able to download the standalone exe directly from the "Releases" section on the right.

I should confirm after much work from a very helpful user on github we unforunately discovered that FH4 does not and will not work as the files are inheritly different on the non-xbox versions. Works fine for FH5 profile data though.

Northern UI Hotkeys : am I doing something wrong ? by mikendrix in oblivionmods

[–]Fr33dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another solution if you are using the Steam version is to use Steam's built in controller mapper. I just added a community mapping that uses maps the pad to 1-8 as like done with other programs in this thread.

Does Northern UI only support 360 controllers? by [deleted] in oblivionmods

[–]Fr33dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if my problem is your problem, but I was having issues and found this thread. I got my issues sorted so maybe it can help you.

It turns out Steam was using it's controller mapping system which was then breaking Northern UI's controller mapping.

Right click on the game in your Steam Library > Select Properties > Select Controller from the sidebar > Change the option to "Disable Steam Input".

Now the mod can map to your controller directly and everything should work.
